Value bets from casino SUBs
What am I talking about?
Signing up to casinos that award the bonus up front, then placing the lot on a single spin of the roulette wheel.
I know that many of you have been doing this, or a variation of it for a while, but it's taken me 'til now to come to terms with it.
With this in mind, signed up to Victors casino last night, deposited 100 got the bonus and stuck 200 on red. Sadly, I got black. Sinking feeling of having just lost a ton notwithstanding, I am convinced that this is the way to go with most sign up bonuses.
I'd love to hear how others that are doing this are getting on.

If it is a Pre wager bonus then that (or variations of it) is the way to go, you can make virtually every offer +EV. Because of this some Casinos exclude you placing bets of over certain %s of your balance on one bet, so watch out for that. Variance goes through the roof of course.
There has been a few threads on it, I will have a look for them and report back if/when I find them.

Bets like this are the way to go for sure, if you have the bankroll to ride it out. I know of people that have lost a lot in a row and wrote off casinos all together. And missing out on a lot of money back in the day. I also know some that have doubled up 7 times in a row and thought casinos were the biggest gold mine around. It can go either way but if you do enough the odds are in your favor and you should profit. If your doing the correct bonuses.

I generally do this, have had good runs and bad runs, currently on a 7 or 8 losing streak, which is bloody expensive. Still its saved me about 4 days wagering!!

Yea, I've been doing this for a while now. Had some good results and only 1 run of bad results. Wasn't aware that VC was this way, being that i've done the spin room; not sure if I can go back and do the regular VC casino.

The way to maximize your expectation with this approach is to take the highest variance bet available with the lowest house edge. I've done this many times with a single number on roulette, when the min bet isn't too small.
Naturally, you need balls and a bankroll for this, but it rocks when it comes off...
Unfortunately a lot of places have taken measures to combat this approach as noted elsewhere in this thread...

Just out of interest which number and why that one?

The 0 usually. This is almost entirely for superstitous reasons, though I figure in the very unlikely event of some kind of bias or cheating in a MP game, it is just possible the 0 might be favoured. For example, say two guys are betting $5K on red and black respectively, if you were the house wouldn't you want 0 to come up? You probably wouldn't care so much about the guy betting £50 on the green slot.
That said, I very much doubt roulette cheating, at least of this kind, ever occurs online.
The one time I bet another number was a 32RED promo back in 2003. They were offering an double payout if two 32's were hit in a row. You could raise your bet when 32 hit and effectively get 70-1 on the next number, naturally 32 hit on average every 36 spins. If you turned off the sound and set the thing to rocket speed you can get in several thousand spins in the two hours the promo lasted.
Naturally, I won a LOT of money. Never seen a promo that good since.
