    Cheltenham Gold Cup 2010

I think the hoopla over the Denman v Kauto showdown has distracted from the fact that outside of those two there is remarkably little strength in depth in this year's race. With the exception of the horse I'm about to discuss there's almost nothing that has a realistic chance or even an outside chance of winning....

I think Cooldine is value at 14.0. He has the profile of a typical winner (young, improving, first run in Gold Cup) & he was brilliant at Chelts last year when he won his race in a canter.

Hyped up "match" races often don't pan out that way with at least one of the contenders running poorly. So much as I'd like to see Denman & Kauto battle it out up the straight, I think Cooldine to win (with a small EW cover) is the bet.

I agree totally cooldine definately has a shout and its odds could seriously reduce nearer the race as everyone looks for an alternative or an each way bet to the top two in the market. The question for me now is whether to place a bet now or on the day?
