    There are dozens of different variations of Blackjack with different corresponding perfect strategies.

    The best way of making your play at any casino last longest is to play the above strategy to very low stakes. The % take for Blackjack is 97/98% and playing £1 a hand lowers the variance of your returns and means you shouldn't lose all your stake for quite a while. However it is inevitable that you will lose your money, the casino has an edge, and if you sit there long enough without changing the stakes eventually the house will take you.

    For this reason some players use what are referred to as sweepering systems. This varies the bet sizes depending on your past results. The theory is that in the long run you will have just as many winning 8 in a row streaks as you have losing 8 in a row streaks. Sweepering ensures that the winning streaks are worth more than the losing streaks. This is not an exact art, an example of a system would be to bet 1, then after a win bet 2, then 2 again, then 4, then 4, then 6, then 6 etc until a hand loses. On a losing hand the next bet is 1 again, etc, etc.

    The key principles here are that you always increase the size of your stake when you are winning, and on a loss you always drop back to the start.

    KEY FOR THE CHART:

    S = Stand
    H = Hit
    D = Double Down
    P = Split
    H/R = Surrneder if you can, if not hit
    H/P = Split if possible, if not hit.
