Europa League Final
Live on ITV 4, Weds 7.45 kick off
In the footballing city of Turin Sevilla will take on Benfica for the Europa Legue final. This is the first year since 2003 that no English team has made either European cup final, however there should still be a fair bit of interest in England on this, as itís one of the last big game gambling opps before the world cup
Benfica are entering as strong favourites with the bookies at around 2.20 however there are other factors at work according to legend. The curse of ďBela GuttmannĒ hangs over the club in a curios way. For those that donít know, Guttmann was the man who guided Benfica to success in 2 European cup finals in 1961 and 1962 Ė however when sacked he stated the club would never win another European cup without him. Since then 7 finals have come and gone and Benfica have lost them ALL! 1963, 1965, 1968, 1983, 1988, 1990, 2013 for the record. The Portugese team take this so seriously that legend Eusebio once prayed at Guttmannís grave asking him to end the curse!!
Superstition aside, Benfica came into the Europa league via the Champions League, and have already won their league and league cup, and could do the domestic treble with a win in the Portugese cup final. So are rightly in as favourites. Sevilla by contrast have played 18 matches to get to this stage beginning back in August last year and with nothing to play for in the league they are very focused on this cup and have a 100% record in their 2 European cup finals previously.
Should be a good game, and a fair few offers are out there to maximise your profits Ė donít forget euro sites will be big on this so check the forum for those hard to find offers Here for more information, and donít forget to join us for the live in play chat
