It was a very pleasant suprise to see 20 of my fellow TGT members take to the green felt this week to battle it out. I think credit has to go to Jon2322 who was doing his best on the chatbox to get people interested, including a little trash talk!
Our first bust out, picking up the wooden spoon this week was shark1129, I think you should definately come back next week and get revenge sir!
The game played out fairly steadily this week with the usual bad beats and suckouts along the way (I got AA cracked and KK cracked this week), but as they say "thats poker".
One of the major upsets was seeing the ever consistent Pecker hitting the rail early and busting in 15th, opening it up for his rivals to close that gap at the top and a couple of his main rivals took that chance with both hands.
The bustouts kept coming thick and fast until we were down to our last 4 and what is known as Bubble Time (the last person to bust outside the money). The 4 remainign culprits were munkphish, who had a knosebleed from getting this high up the finishing ladder! , LFCEoin, who I have seen numerous times build really big stacks only to self combust late, smallplayer one of the title contenders and same can be said of WILpro.
The bubble was fought for hard and you have to give Eoin credit as he is completely fearless when it comes to shoving his stack around and putting people under pressure, the kind of player where you never really know if he has the goods or not, but he eventually succumbed and was sent to the rail on the bubble, when he jammed A7 from the button and WILpro woke up in the small blind with JJ.
Then there were 3... and it was munk who was our 3rd placed finisher. Played really well all game and had the chiplead at numberous stages throughout. Things just didn't go his way at the end, when he fired 3 streets as a semi bluff with bottom pair, but smallplayer decided to look him up and caught him out. A very respectable 3rd place finish, which would help push him up the overall leaderboard.
Heads up was WILpro vs smallplayer, both these guys are there or thereabouts in the overall league standings, both have been consistently good throughout the league so far, but only one of them could be victorious...
WILpro started with a slight chiplead of 110k vs 75k, they then battled it out for 15 mins and with those blind sizes that is some battle, with it eventually all going in on a coinflip...
Wilpro held AJ
Smallplayer held 88.
Board came... 74777 , the turn giving small a full house, but the river bringing quad sevens with an ace for Wil to take down this weeks game.
Congrats to all who participated and a huge well done to WILpro!!!
This weeks result:
Standings after week 4:
So, as you can see Pecker still holds the lead inthe race to the top, but WILpro and Smallplayer both made significant moves this week to close the gap. It's all to play for yet in the TGT Poker League.
Unfortunately this week there is no video. I made a mistake when editing and screwed the audio up, apologies, normal service will resume next week and I intend to do some commentary in my Northern drawl
See you guys there.
