Premier League - Tuesday 25th March, live on Sky Sports
Yet another Manchester derby takes place this evening – between the blue and red half of this great footballing city. We all know most Utd fans are not from Manchester however as they play their home games their this still counts as a derby and this years takes on added significance as you may have heard Utd have recently changed their manager, with less than excellent results.
City have had a bit of a dip in form recently and their dreams of the quadruple have now gone after a brave defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League, and an embarrassing one to Wigan in the FA Cup. In fact it could be that the League cup is the only trophy they win. This is not good news for Pelleigrini as the only man to keep his job longer than a year after a League cup win recently was Alex Ferguson. A win away at Old Trafford would do a lot for him and City travel on the back of a 5-0 battering of Fulham on Saturday.
Man United’s troubles this term are well documented – barring a collapse from Arsenal or winning the Champions league – they look likely to be heading for a trophy less season and only the Eurpoa league next year to look forward to. They have lost of the last 5 derby’s to City and got beaten 4-1 in their away trip already this season. Although United will be up for this one, and did beat West Ham on Saturday, they have lost 5 at home already this season and apart from beating Arsenal have not won a game against anyone above them.
