TGT Bookie World Cup 2014
So it's nearly here, the BIG one - after 4 years of waiting and countless FIFA corruption scandals, 32 nations will compete for the biggest prize in sport during a month of football. The World's best players and the World’s best paid players, coaches, a small army of journalists, drunken fans, nutritionists, sports physios, physics and witchdoctors are descending to Brazil. Despite the protests in the favelas and the arguments over white elephant stadiums being built in the Amazon rainforests this promises to be a World Cup to be remembered.
However in another part of the world, also synonymous with green and yellow (we are talking about the TGT offices in Norwich) a very different competition is kicking off. This is the bookies world cup and involves 32 sites competing for the honour of TGT world cup holders. Who will be king of the world cup offers come 13th July?
Join us for a month of fun and help boost your world cup earnings as we aim to find out!
How does the Bookie World Cup work?
We have chosen 32 websites who are running world cup promotions and assigned them to a nation. Each world cup match day their country’s corresponding fixture will be “played” between the 2 sites. After the group stage the 8 group winners and 8 runners up will enter the knockout stages they will play in the same allocated matches as their respective finishing positions that their nations would have qualified.
How are matches played?
Matches are scored based on the World Cup offers and the odds available on the day of the fixture. All offers and odds will be taken by 3pm on the day of the fixture.
A “goal” is awarded for each +EV World Cup offer available
Two “goals” are awarded for a +EV World Cup offer that is specific to the “game” they are involved in (i.e England vs Italy and one site is either country, if they have a special offer on that match - not just a offer available on any world cup match)
Two “goals” are awarded to the site with the best odds on the 1X2 market prior to kick off
During the group stages - sites who had an outright pre World Cup offer gain 1 goal per group game, those that had both an outright offer & a boosted new customer bonus start each game with 2 goals
In the knockout stages in the event of a tie the “extra time” winner will be the site with the highest value attached to their world cup offers on the day of the match
Should the sites still be tied the site with the best available sportsbook offer on that day anywhere on the site will go through on “penalties” - this is at discretion of TGT
And that’s basically it. Follow us @TGT_Official and on the Forum to see who takes the prize.
