From the start of May 2012 TGT will be moving from the current model of sending the monthly newsletter out by email to using a special Premium Only TGT News section on the forum.
Please note that the actual content will not change, only the way in which it is delivered.
The benefits to you as a Premium Member are highlighted in this article.
The newsletter will not be blocked inadvertently by your mail server
Over the last few months as we started to bring you more editorial type news (think newspapers), the content began to get more and more diverse and as a result this has meant that spam servers have started to block these emails.
The point is that by posting the content directly on the forum rather than sending it out via email will circumvent any over-zealous spam servers!
On a side note - amusingly/bemusingly our own email / spam server classified the newsletter test messages we sent as spam on about 8 different counts for the last newsletter. Spam blocking triggers that went off included stuff like"411 money forwarding scam", "Money launderering fraud", "Mentions lots of money", "Lottery ticket scams", "Excessive drug references" and even "Sexually explicit references" - reading the newsletter you can see why this happened but in actual fact all of the references that triggered these triggers were relatively innocent (honest guv!).
We can bring you the news as it happens
Occasionally, content that we add to the newsletter may be time critical. For example the news that a certain book is due to go into administration on the 20th of the month so you should contact them before then to arrange to get your funds out is pretty pointless news being relayed at the start of the following month - by that time it's too late. And generally just being able to bring you news as it happens is better than you reading stale news at the end of the month/on the first Sunday of the following month.
You can read the content in smaller bits rather than all in one go
Over recent months the size of the newsletter has gotten quite large as we moved to the editorial type of article which covers news that is announced across various industry wide gaming feeds. In turn this made the monolithic newsletter quite a big chunk of news to read in one go.
By having individual news articles posted through the month, this should make the content easier to read/digest.
We can 'promote to article' any content that is posted on the forum
There is the option to promote to article (so it is visible in the news section) any post that is made on the forum. This means if anyone posts some news worthy item on the forum, we can easily get it up on this section and include extra content/analysis on the item.
News items are searchable
As it stands, items that we have previously mentioned in the email based newsletter are not easily searchable. By moving to posting news content here on the site, it will automatically be searchable so you can find past information easily.
Note the news articles will be rotated at the end of each month into the 'archive' section - to see the archive section follow this link:

News content will not change, only the way it is delivered
Finally, just to emphasize, the actual content we send out will not change, it is only the way the content is delivered that will change.
