Congratulations to Meatbug (AKA Kingaz) who I was on a table with from the start and played very solid, despite an early setback.
21 players graced the green felt for the first game of the season and a hard fought game it was. A couple of standout hands I remember was seeing SirGatsby get it in with Smallplayer on a A8K board, sir gatsby having AK and small player holding 88 for a set of 8's! You can't do much about those. I also saw someone hit quad aces on another tabe, but I forgot who the player was. Apologies, but nh sir.
The game was steady down to the last four, where the battle really heated up. 4 Handed played the bubble for a long time, with no one spewing chips and every pot being fought for. The two smaller stacks of bristolciti and WILpro were not tolerating the big stacks trying to bully them, despite the big stack players, meatbug and pecker doing the right thing and raising a lot and putting pressure on.
Finally Bristolciti hit the rail on the bubble, despite his brave efforts, in 4th spot. WIl quickly followed in 3rd positiona and then we were heads-up. Meatbug vs PeckerTGT.
The Heads Up didn't last too long, mainly due to the size of the blinds in relation to the stacks, but it all went in and Meatbug's 99 hit a set vs Pecker's A5 and Meatbug was crowned the week one champion!
Well played to everyone who attended and we look forward to seeing you next week.
I have recorded the heads-up battle even though it didn;t last long. I will upload to Youtube and then add it here.

Congratulations to Meatbug on a fine performance.
Video: There is no sound and I try to show the 3rd place bustout. It all happened very quickly.
