William Hill has apparently stopped accepting players from Australia in a move which is understood to help align them better for their entry into the US. Australian law includes harsh penalties for any gambling site that offers poker and casino products to Australian residents - all of which does not sit well with William Hill's intention to obtain a Nevada gaming licence.
WH as we speak (7th June 2012) are sitting in a hearing by the Nevada Gaming Control Board to discuss the various issues relating to their operation in the US and will include discussion of their various US facing operations (Nevada based betting operator American Wagering and the Cal Neva Sports Book). The move into would place them well should the general restrictions on gambling in the US begin to loosen in the near future.
Will Hill's hearing comes just two days after Bally (more or less) obtained a licence to provide B2B igaming solutions in the state of Nevada.
