Are there any other ways bookies can detect multiple accounts on the same computer? Basically it's happened a couple of times in the past (samvo and allyoubet) where they detect using the same computer, although I used different ips. I'm 99% sure I don't have iesnare on my laptop so if anyone has any idea how they find out/how to block it, that would be useful!

to check if iesnare is on your computer...You can find it by opening up a command prompt
(start -> all programs->accessories->command prompt) then typing..... dir mp*.com /s
if its there you will see the date it was installed on your computer!
if its there and you want to block it, pm me and i'll send you easy to follow guide..

if its there and you want to block it this is how..
Click the Start button, click notepad or enter notepad in the bar at the bottom
Right-click on the Notepad item which appears at the top of the list
Choose "Run as administrator"...thats your user password, make sure you are logged on as administrator
as it wont work otherwise!
in "untitled - notepad" go to file and click open, then under "files of type" click all files
enter "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc" in file name and click open
right click on "hosts" file (make sure it only says hosts, not hosts.bak or hosts.txt), select
properties and uncheck read-only box at bottom beside attributes
click apply then ok
then double click "hosts" again
Add the following lines in the next line below where it says "127.0.0.1 localhost"
127.0.0.1 iesnare.com

hold ctrl + s to save, then exit (it should not ask to save)
the open the command prompt (start -> all programs->accessories->command prompt)
and check that it is working by entering...type in the word "ping" followed by any of the entries
(without the numbers)..e.g ping mpsnare.iesnare.com..press enter
your looking to see similar to this:
Pinging mpsnare.iesnare.com [127.0.0.1] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Ping statistics for 127.0.0.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
note all zeros at bottom and 127.0.0.1 addresses at top
anything different to this is wrong!
ive done this on both vista and xp, both work.
Now, whenever IESnare attempts to phone home, your networking system will give
it the wrong address (127.0.0.1 is always the address of your own computer), and
its messages won't get through. You can check this has worked by trying to go to
www.iesnare.com , or any of the above addresses, in your web browser: you shouldn't be able to get there and it should say it is unable to connect!

Just checking my pc and I have this on here ago so time to remove it.
"Also, you don't get the option to opt in or out of this, the iesnare cookie is installed secretly without your knowledge or explicit permission (as opposed to the permission you give when you agree to the T&C of most gaming sites which probably includes a clause that allows them to use companies like Iovation to track users)."
Has anyone ever checked the security t&c's? To see if there is a hidden clause? I just had a quick scan at corals but it only mentioned the verisign security for card details.

Another good thing to mention if you care about your privacy is an addon for Firefox and Chrome called Ghostery. It will block most of those tracking sites like Google Analytics.
Edit: It's also available for Opera and Safari.

iovation - vcbet
evening everybody
I was wondering if anyone could help, or has experienced the following:
I think vcbet have made a change with their payments software so that now when you make a withdrawal, you have to allow iovation (I use no script, which displays the scripts necessary to make the page work, and I'm sure iovation didn't use to be there, or if it did, the page still worked with allowing that script) or else the payment page won't load properly and the withdrawl can't be made.
If I allow it, the cookie ci-mpsnare.iovation.com is on my pc.
Is there a way round this? Previosly when using no script I just did't allow the iesnare script and that seemed to work but now it seems I have to allow iovation to put the withdrawal through?
cheers
J

Hi Jonny,
As I said in my PM last night I am not sure about that re vcbet - in the end with Betcris (who are similar in that they don't seem to allow access unless you enable iesnare) I just gave in and allowed it, I don't have anything to hide per se (although in my opinion that is the very same reason I don't think they SHOULD run iesnare!).
Maybe there is a way around it I don't know. Hopefully someone else knows?
Re your question about logging in as administrator - are you sure you're not already an admin? You should be able to tell if you goto:
Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts\Manage Accounts
in Windows 7 Explorer (not sure about XP/Vista but is similar to that ^).
