Hi All,
I have read through this entire thread and found the information fascinating. It really is scary and annoying that such tactics seem to be employed by bookmakers etc.
But I have a few big questions regarding the processes listed to determine whether you have been iesnared and also on how to block it.
1) If this software does what we think it does, why on Earth would they leave a footprint on your PC with directories and files. Surely they would simply snapshot the pc in memory, do the comparison with central database and give their clients (Bookmakers etc) the answer they are after without leaving anything on the PC. I have 2 PC's (1 desktop, 1 laptiop) both running Vista and I have been betting with most of the major UK bookmakers of which many are listed on this thread and I dont have the mp*.com files / directories on either PC after almost 5 years of doing so. Surely if it works as it is suggested in the thread, I should have them on both pc's for sure.
2) With regards to the host table fix mentioned, surely if they were coding this software / application whatever we want to call it, they would simply post back to the ip address direct rather than the domain name to prevent people doing exactly what is listed in the thread and modifying their local host table. If the software simply posted to nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn etc, wouldn't that work regardless of host table?
Many thanks for any advice, it just really intrigues me as I have found as the years have gone by, bookmakers are so much quicker to block accounts than they were 5 years ago. 1 example I have with William Hill, is that I opened a new fresh account with a name/address never used before, went to place 1st bet and it said max stake zero. Emailed them and got reply that they had been looking at my betting pattern and decided they didn't want me as a customer. Interesting answer as I hadnt even managed to place 1 bet ! After reading this thread I thought that was a classic case of being impacted by iesnare .
Thanks in advance, Martin

That is almost certainly fraud and an incredibly foolish thing to publicly admit to. We are not naive enough to not think that people do it, but they have the common sense to keep quiet about it.
I dont want a row over whether it is illegal or not it has been done to death already and we will never know for sure until the CPS takes someone to task for it and the judge makes a ruling. One thing we do know for sure here and now is it is against the TGT site rules to operate more than your own account. So please do not discuss doing so again.

Only operate your own accounts is for the best. If they do not want you to have an account then that is that then, it is up to them who they take as a customer and you can go somewhere else to place your bets.
Have a plan and stick to it

Since modding the host file and blocking iesnare, I've been having lots of problems with BetDaq using all browers.
When trying to lay, it's sticks on "loading" or goes blank.
Has anyone a solution for this (apart from using BF/SM instead)?

I don't know about Betdaq but Betcris won't allow you to login without having iesnare enabled, I must admit I didn't try to hard to find a way around it and just enabled iesnare full stop.

Download VirtualBox, or VM Server, then install Windows or Linux as a guest OS. In the guest OS enable iesnare so you can get to BetCris. In your Host OS disable iesnare and access all your other Books.

Must admit I never really thought about doing that, is a good idea. I have got virtualbox installed as well and use it for a couple of things (use it for testing out forum upgrades for here!), hadn't thought about using it for what you suggest. Will have to get on the case and block iesnare again. >:

Not here unless I've not hacked my hosts file enough
