"Mugging" a bet means backing it and crossing your fingers, there is no lay bet in place you need the back to win to make any £s. It comes from the term "Mug" being someone who just bets in a bookmaker and loses money because they dont know what they are doing and take -EV bets. I think its fine and in some cases prefered to "Mug" bets if it is still +EV to do so but thats a different argument. I will add that to the glossary.
I will start a new thread about this, just so this one can stick to people saying "Hello"

Well I feel like a fish out of water here, I am used to the american forums...
My name is Carl and a lot of you guys might know me from other forums or maybe from Bet911...Hello!
and by the way I'm from Costa Rica........
Hello Carl, keep up the good work at Bet911
I'm John from London. Good gambler, horses only, totally useless trader, been "learning"for 3 years, not bad at matched betting,no major mistakes. Am going to match, dutch, arb the US books soon. Will start with about 1.5K. Reading everything on the site as I know nothing about US sports but want to learn quickly. Will ask for help on a regular basis and am thinking of posting a diary.
Welcome aboard, jopre.
It sounds like you know a fair amount about MBing already. But if there's anything you need to know the folks here are really friendly and helpful and will offer expert advice (I'm no expert but there are some wise old heads around). So just use the search function and/or ask away. Oh, and I think diaries are a great way to keep track of your own progress and allow others to learn from your experences too so go for it!
Been doing this for 6 weeks now and have made a few hundred pounds which is going to next years holiday. Took a break last week as I was finding myself spending every spare minute looking at bookies odds! How do you lot find the time to make money and post on here all the time to help us newbies out??
Thanks to everyone who has helped me so far.
Hello and welcome pricelessluck. Glad you're finding the site/forum useful, any contribution you can make in terms of reporting back on the experience you had is always helpful if you want to 'pay back' as it were for the help you've received, that's the main aim of the site, to be somewhere that people can come to get a fair / unbiased opinion on the various gaming sites out there.
