Sorry to hear about your experiences Tel. Have made a mistake or 2 so far myself
I'm finding that MB is a bit scary tho..... Most of my bookie back bets have won so far. Of the 2 times I can think of (in my limited time in MB'ing) when I won a lay at Betfair, 1 was for a qualifier so had to redeposit to get the 2nd free bet. Its very tempting to think that laying is just a waste of money.
But I just keep telling myself that the (back) bets only keep winning cos I am MB'ing!
Dead right, norika.
I did 5 arbs yesterday. The first 2 won, so I moaned to Mrs anglo , " Why did I lay them off ?"
The next 3 lost to remind me why.
Had a bit of a 'mare last night, backed Southampton just before kick off and was just going to lay it off when BF went suspended, didn't have game in play arghhhhh
Eventually found Stan James had it in play so was going to dutch my way out of it when laptop battery died & for the first time in god knows how long, hadn't brought the power pack home from work!!
Could have been so much worse thankfully I was limited to €100 as I tried to wack €500 on it as it was a nice arb, oh well onwards & upwards!

I never mention this on mse ( God forbid ), but it has made me some really nice extras on top.
I actually find the best thing to cheer me up if I mess up an offer is music!
This song is particularly good. Played loud of course:

You reminded me of a little story there Fella of what was NEARLY my biggest ever mistake/loss/bad spell.
I was watching the Eurovision song contest in 2007, i think Terry Wogan is absolutely hilarious and it was great TV. Anyway i also had betfair up and for the past X years you could always basically make £s in play betting. You could wait for songs which were just anything other than terrible, then the odds as they were on or just after would come in as people thought "oh this might win", so I would just lay it after its come in, 20 mins and a few songs later they would by and large have gone out to where it was before they sang. Its not an exact science but i had made money from it every year i tried and it made the whole thing a bit more fun anyway.
So i was sat there and 45mins or so in there had been a dozen bland meaningless forgetfull balads and some Europop crap and it was very very Dull. I could tell you nothing about who had played or what they sang. THEN THIS CAME ON:

Instantly i thought "This is awsome" and threw some £s on it. The price was about 8s. Thirty seconds in and it was down to 6s coming in like a train and i threw another big chunk of money on. Thirty seconds after that and i had my entire betfair balance on it, which is quite a lot. This was a pure mug punt, i didnt see how it would lose. The price settled around 3s after he finished.
Half an hour later sanity returned, i layed it off to make just £50 or so on everyone else but still several thousand on him. He came second and i won £50
Still if i hadnt have layed it off it would have been so so so much worse, but i still dont know how he didnt win.
(sorry for the waffle, this should maybe be in the "Almost biggest ever mistake thread")
Have a plan and stick to it
