Matched Betting during the summer?
I desperately want to keep matching betting on a regular basis (I can dedicate about an hour a night)......
....but with the football ending about now- what do you recommend focusing on until the footie starts again later in the year?
Are horses the standard sport for the summer. Please shed some light on what you will be match betting on over the next 3-4 months, to give me some inspiration!
Horses are good depending quite how late your hour in the evening is. Now would be too late for UK racing i think it is usually all over by 21:00 at the latest.
In US Sports you have Baseball in full swing but cant rely too much on IceHockey or NFL, I have never really used IceHockey to any degree and the NFL wont start until September.
You usually have things like Cricket Tours, Major Competitions (Euro2008 or World Cups Soccer/Rugby etc etc) but this year we seem to dodge most of those. There will still be the Tennis tournaments, Wimbledon is usually good for a few £s and then Golf Tournaments too. Golf is not much good actually unless you are using freebets at long odds.
So for day in day out stuff to bet on you are really looking at Horses and Baseball, for "Events" likely to have specific freebet offers there is not too much. But we shall see...
Have a plan and stick to it
oh... no extra money during summer :/
Hmm, is there not some different rules to go with horse betting though?
What about the dogs?
I'm currently looking to start up again, and am also trying to find out alternative markets I can scope out...
There's almost no market for the dogs until a few mins before the off. I wouldn't consider them for matched betting to be honest.
Rule 4 is what you are thinking of for horses. Its to do with horses being withdrawn before the off. I wouldn't worry to much about it, and the general feeling is that it will eventually even itself out if you get caught by it (i.e. sometimes you'll lose, others you'll win).
Some countries still play football over the summer. Ireland and Norway for example. Spain and Italy have another week to go.
Plus u normally get the odd footy tourney even if it's stuff like U21 or U19 etc.
Plus Royal Ascot soon
Nice one guys.
Also: I'm thinking that I'll us the quieter time to develop my Matched Betting Education. I haven't dabbled in Dutching or Asian Handicaps yet- so now is as good a time as any to get studying.
Hi, I'm a noob to online betting and have only been doing it for a couple of weeks. So far the money I've got tied up is quite significant although I have enjoyed a healthy ratio of profit for my efforts. I'm worried that I'll lose momentum over the summer with the loss of European football.
Being new to this I'm very wary of Rule 4 with the horses - how much do the odds tend to shift when one of the favourites is pulled out?
And from what I've seen the baseball markets seem to be pretty tight most of the time around evens and I like to have longer odds for those bookies that don't like to give away the stake with the free bets they offer.
Sorry to hijack the thread but are there any more regular markets than those for the summer?
It depends on the price of the horse that was withdrawn, but Betfair applies a reduction factor as well so theoretically the lay liability should be reduced by the same amount as the reduction in winnings if your horse does win. If it doesn't win then rule4 doesn't make a difference.
