Week 7: 09 - 15 August
I was away for most of week, holidaying in sunny essex, so i only had a couple of days to find deals etc. Considering that it was a pretty good week making slightly over 200 pounds. It would have been a lot more had it not been for a bit of stupidity...
Made £110.5 from the 888casino sign up offer.
Did 2 Will Hill bogofs, making £3.41 and £1.97.
Finished off the 888sport sub, making £5.37.
William Hill casino signup made £23.
William Hill casino club offers a no deposit £30 bonus from which i made £90.01.
Made 21.78 from the Betclick sign up offer.
Broke even on a couple of other things...
£1.87 from trading and £22.79 from arbs.
Then we come to my mistake... Lost £75 on a mug (I don't think i can get away with calling it a value bet?) and made £9.23 on another mug.
Week 7 P/L: £214.93
Culmative P/L: £1716.66 out of the target £1750
Below target again .
I'm again away for most of next week, also constantly looking for arbs is really starting to bore me so expect another disapointment (While writing this i'm week 8 is -£!). What i do plan to do is finish the gamebookers sub and do the casino there. Also do quite a few arbs in the final sprint for the betfair cricket giveaway. Then the week after i'll hit some big books and start throwing my virtual weight around!
I'll add in links later when i have more time .
nice diary, really hope you decide to keep it going for after the summer..
what was the mug??
It was a tennis match. I had to empty my balance at will hill to do the live casino risk free so i though i'd mug the balance... hah not only did i lose my balance but i also didn't make anything out of the live casino!
sam i hope ure up very early and not up very late, gym at 12?
Week 8: 16 - 22 August
A rubbish week (as expected). I did hardly anything:
Won £34.73 at poker. (tgt league, thank you very much!)
got £10.03 from stan james free chips (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...er-thread.html).
referred a friend to tgt (The Gambling Times | Viewing Article "Refer a Friend") so got £49.87 from that.
Made £4.22 from trading.
Here is a breakdown of my arbing: -52.4 (trying to arb horses and the odds shot out ), 1.06, 2.11, 0.26, 0.17, 5.78, 1.06, -0.97, 3.18, 0.7, 2.7, -1.08, 2.36, 1.24, 0.93, 3.96, 2.1, 1.19 totaling -25.65.
Week 8 P/L: £73.2
Culmative P/L: £1789.86 out of the target £2000
So wayyyyy below target .
Hopefully will make it up next week. Plan to hit a few of the asians and finish of gamebookers.
Week 9: 23 - 29 August
As promised, stepped up the effort rating this week earning just over £400:
Gamebookers sportsbook signup (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...ox-90-you.html) and made £50.13.
The gamebookers casino (50% bonus, 20xb wr http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...ino-offer.html) wasn't so good with a loss of £9.50.
Got £20 from a ladbrokes reload (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...ffer-10-a.html).
Win United reload (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...r-inboxes.html) got £12.61.
Got a bet24 reload (50% to £50) and made £39.65 due to underlaying.
Signed up to eurosportbet and made a shocking £29.55 out of a £50 snr (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...-aug-31st.html). This was dues to a mixture of horrendus odds and I mugged a bit of the free balance.
Signed up to mansion88 (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...us-588rmb.html) and 12bet (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...gh-roller.html) which i busted against each other making £230.
Signed up to bet-at-home (50% to £15 http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...e-33euros.html) and made £16.06.
Did a few Will Hill buy one get one frees (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...ing-users.html) and made £12.18.
And arbs to the sum of £11.99.
Week 9 P/L: £412.67
Culmative P/L: £2202.53 out of the target £2250
So almost back on target.
Plus there are also a few things from week 9 where all the work has been done and just waiting to be paid, gamebookers raf share, betclic signup, betclic raf share. So I consider myself back on target!
No plans yet for next week, but it is a new month so hopefully there will be a plethora of nice reloads to keep me occupied . Will probably also do another sign up or to - maybe The Greek...
Week 10: 30 - 05 September
Probably the week where i did the most offers, unfortunately they were all small offers so my p&l this week is pretty average:
From the betboo sign up offer (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...ffer-30-a.html) and made £23.88 due to finding a nice arb.
In my notes i have betclick: £8.80, but i can't remember any more about it :s . Must have been some sort of reload.
Lovely beginning of the month cashback to the sum of £52.
At sportingbetcasino ($50, 25xb wr, http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...100-match.html) made £23.
Gamebookers raf share (from signing up last week) of £45.
The 32red monthly bonus (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...ongoing-6.html). loss of £32. I don't know why i insist on doing these; they are hardly ever profitable...
From jaxx points (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...-reminder.html) made £7.32.
Signed up to unibet (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...100-match.html) and made £21.40.
Signed up to panbet (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...eebet-snr.html) and made £18.92.
Coral monthly cashback (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...ck-losses.html) made £29.
Signed up to tipico (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...p-100-new.html) and made £60.40 (underlayed and bust out).
Signed up to triobet, not realising that the bonus wasn't for folks in the UK. -£2.
William Hill bogofs made me £5.59. I've really cut back on these due to laziness. Should probably start doing them again as they do mount up.
From arbs I made £12.46.
Week 10 P/L: £273.77
Culmative P/L: £2476.30 out of the target £2500
Getting ever closer to the target...
Next week I will do the 32red 5% bonus. The reason i haven't done it already is that my usual tactic of being overdrawn to the hilt meant i have had to withdraw a lot to fund another 32red adventure. Also i may well do players only casino but will wait and follow how other people get on before firing in. Also I plan to sign up to centrebet.
Till next week, adios.
Week 11: 06 - 12 September
I rather lazy week for me on the gambling front. I've been rather busy with a friend coming to stay and i've spent the rest of my free time looking into trading the financial markets.
I also had my card stolen/lost in a drunken stupor so wasn't able to hit 32red as much as i was hopping to.
I did 32red's 5% bonus twice (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...-deposits.html) making a total of £118.
Did a betclick reload (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...ad-thread.html) which was very fun. Used the martingale stratergy and this is one of the very few times i would recommend it. Made £63.48.
Did chanceroom sportsbook sub (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...et-refund.html) and made £15.5. Should have been more but messed up and had to wager through another 50 euros.
Did the chanceroom casino (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...0-100-sub.html) and made £22.32.
William hill bogof (http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...-users-48.html) made £13.51.
Trading made £14.52 and made £27.21 from arbs.
Week 11 P/L: £274.54
Culmative P/L: £2750.84out of the target £2750
Just just over target!
On the down side this may be the last week . I am planning to spend the last couple of weeks getting into trading the financial markets (any help/advice welcome) and i'm also planning a couple of holidays. One to Malta and one to sunny Essex. I plan to still do bits and bobs so as long as my figures aren't to embarrassingly low may still post them. All in all it has been a good Summer, and if it wasn't for this forum it would have been a lot more boring and a lot harder work. So thanks to everyone!
An inspiring thread for sure!
Can I ask what sort of float you were working with?
"Pay no attention to what the critics say. No statue has ever been erected to a critic."
This is somehting I plan to look at in the future also, but it's not something that I expect to be straightforward or easy.
I am planning to spend the last couple of weeks getting into trading the financial markets (any help/advice welcome)
Having said that, I do think there are many people who do quite well out of it but each no doubt have evolved their own strategies and back their opinions on the Financial Markets.
I do know that there is a massive amount of material available (DVD's, Books etc) on trading, none of which can turn you into a successful trader, much is down to the individual. I am also in no doubt that there is a massive amount of misinformation out there. As an example of this, I recently saw a particular course that had nothing but 5 star reviews on Amazon. The course/author in question had it's own forum which was allegedly populated by successful traders. The forum recently dissapeared and it turns out that the Amazon reviews were spoofs.
I was also at a social event recently where I was talking to a guy who trades CFD's (Contracts For Difference), and I was asking questions about his strategy (as much as you can do at a social event), and it would seem that he looked at the fundamentals of a company by reading the news, financal reports, company accounts, looked into the growth potential of the sector etc etc...
He was a rather Wealthy chap and his opinion was that "the stockmarket always goes back up", and because he had the funds he could ride out negative movements until the stock recovered. I want to speak to him more as he did have some interesting views on the markets but I'm not sure I agree with that particulat point. I have seen many stocks that have fallen and never recovered to the levels they used t be, and, even if this strategy were correct, you could have capital tied up for a long time!
Interestingly, just the other day I opened a Partymarkets account which I am planning to use to hedge a USD deposit (for doing the US books), and upon opening the account I had a chat with my accont manager who called me to ensure I understood the risks and exposure of spreadbetting etc.
Nearing the end of the conversation I asked her out of interest if she had many successful clients. She chuckled, and said that not all customers were losing clients, and approximately 30% of her clients use spread betting for hedging.
So there you have it - just a few things there to encourage you to go into that with your eyes open! However, you do seem to be able to profit from trading horses and I think it's fair to say that not everyone can make a success out of that!
