Loved that idea when I heard it. Forget the wallet, higher earning players have too much money. You'd have to fine them a year's wages to have any impact at all, and to incorporate that throughout all leagues would be nigh on impossible. For some footballers, their wage is their livelyhood, as opposed to more than they'd ever know what to do with.

As an impartial observer of footie, apart from my recent massive punt on Norwich, it seems to me that the FA should keep appointing a new referee for Man Utd games till they get one who meets Sir Alex Ferguson`s needs
There's been an obscene amount of wrong refereeing decisions going on nowadays. I can't help thinking that's its started because managers like Sir Alex Ferguson who deflect losses and poor performances away from their players.
Referees are now starting to 2nd doubt their decisions sometimes. I can remember any other time in football when there's been so much criticising of the refs in the press by managers and/or players.
