Jack White's new album is on itunes to listen to for free at the moment (heavily restricted, you can only listen to it as one long stream with no indication what track you're listening to / no rewind/ff etc etc - edit: actually you can ff/rew/pause etc):
I have had a box of cassettes stored in my sisters shed for the past god knows how many years, finally came across a cheap cassette TEAC separate so dug the box out, amazingly most of them still play OK! I used to make compilations up and always bought reasonably good quality cassettes. Most are from between 1985 and 1994.
Anyway have found a couple of nice tunes and shall post them here. I have most of what I liked/had on mp3 but there will bound to be a few that slipped through the net.
First up is Change "Let's Go Together" what a fantastic soulful track this one is, 1985 and it only made #37 on the UK charts, which is almost as criminal as Florence and the machine only making #50 with "No Light, No Light."
The charts really are a pile of shit these days but back in the 80's the quality was much much higher.
Re: Wikileaks- In a free society, we are supposed to know the truth. In a society where truth becomes treason, we are in big trouble. - Ron Paul
Wow that's a bit out of leftfield mate isn't it lol.
That quote refers to how people (i.e Assange/Wikileaks) are persecuted for trying to get the truth out and it is by the best man never to have a chance of becoming US President but to answer your very odd question I would tell them the truth. I would make sure to tell them that they have a chance of surviving too but in all honesty it's a very bizarre hypothetical question.
Would you not agree its that its not always best letting the public know the truth?
More from Jack White here - full live show (Amex UNSTAGED), very high quality stream, was originally a kind of 'experimental' live stream in conjunction with Amex, happened to catch it just after having watched him on Jools Holland's show last night so all Whited out now
PS was directed (cynically I think they are using that term very loosely!) by Gary Oldman, quite a different 'teaser' clip here with White basically tackling Oldman to the ground and managing to make him bleed in the process lol:
