Nice one, yes music can definitely be very therapeutic, just spent a good hour or two sorting through some old recordings of Jools Holland's "Later" show saving any good bits... came across The Civil Wars who aren't exactly what I'd usually be into but is one of those acts that you see 'live' on Later and just think 'wow'):
for a bit of novelty value maybe this cover of Billy Jean might be more 'accessible':
and even more novel this cover of 'I want you back' by MJ?!)
Bet they wouldn't make the intro stages of X Factor though...
Cheers Munk. Not usually what I'd like either, but cracking voices, and I do like it. Much prefer Barton Hollow though, makes much better use of their voices.
There's usually at least one act on Jools most weeks that blows me away. One of my favourite 'wow' moments from the last couple of years of his shows was Camille O'Sullivan. Just a complete 'wow' performance. Left me stunned;
Haha yeah she's definitely going for that wow factor
Are there any other shows like Later? I can't think of any in the UK anyway (maybe some on Channel 4 but nothing like the studio sound quality you get on Later), not sure if there's anything else like it even world wide. Jools is a national institution.
Been here for about nearly 3 years and only found this thread a few weeks ago, amazed to find peeps with good musical tastes aswell, albeit we all know music is subjective so some of my tunes I might upload may not be to everyones favour.
I'm a huge House music fan, I was there when it started in the mid 80s, still listen to it today, I also continue to watch OFAH constantly so make of that what you will.
Anyway, here is one of my favourite dirty house tunes. Terry Hunter - Madness.
