Just flicked over during the ads on Glee & see not only is the ugly turd winning 17-15 but that sack of crap John Parrot is falling over himself to say how wonderful he is.
Fuck off Parrot, why don't you run & see if he'll let you suck him off during the interval. If you can get past Barry Hearn in the queue. Joke "sport" about to be crowned with a joke world champion. And no-one involved with it, players, promoters, commentators, could care less - as long as they all get paid.
I agree entirely that Higgins shouldn't be playing after what he did but he's still the best player around at the moment. Hearn was never going to ban him for long was he?

I've only seen him in the semi and final but I haven't been impressed with Trump at all, don't see what the fuss is about.... another flashy wham-bam merchant who really needs to learn how to play the game properly before he stands a chance of being a real world champion. I wouldn't be surprised if he never gets into another world final!
But hey that's only my opinion and having watched this game for over 30 years I know how unpredictable it can be!
Jesus H Christ, the only reason I've been watching is to see the a-hole lose.
It is an utter disgrace, I have a feeling that most of the people involved in the sport plus some of the spectators were hoping that he wouldn't get too far. Having him go on and win is like flushing a particularly large turd down the toilet only for you to return an hour or so later to take a piss and finding the turd has reappeared.

Was you actually watching him? He was poor yesterday but the best player by far through the rest of the tournament. Round one he beat last years world champion Robertson, round 3 he beat another former world champion (Dott) Not only that (although I did not see it) he won the China Open earlier in April. "needs to learn how to play the game properly" is a stupid statement to make IMO. Who is to say the proper way to play anyway?

You need to be strong in all areas of the game.
He lost to probably the best all-round player around at the moment who, incidently, was nowhere near his best during the match.
However Trump is only 21 and has a chance of improving with experience. He may well improve and dominate the next 10 years as Steve Davies and Steven Hendry did in their decades, but I doubt it, it's too competitive these days.
The trouble is that the media are desperate for a new star within the game and are talking up Trump before he's ready. I thought it was interesting when he said during the immediate post match interview that he didn't expect to do well in the final. So much for the arrogance and confidence of youth! This year was probably too early for him but others have won it first time having to qualify.
I don't think any of them won it again.
All this is only my opinion and personally I think it's stupid to criticise other peoples opinions.
Mmmm you could have hit the nail on the head there. May well be the death of the game.

Looking back I don't think I watched much of this year's event, kind of lost it's appeal somewhat.
Yes, although I thought his safety play was ok he kept missing easy pots every frame it seems, thus letting Higgens get back in too easy. Still think it was a stupid comment to make, my point was he had obviously already learnt to play snooker properly to win a title already and be beating former world champions. Just my opinion

Higgins didn't play well throughout the final and in his interview he conceded that Trump had been the better player. Higgins new that he had taken at least three frames where Trump had simply got unlucky.
The only thing I would like to see Trump improve upon is temperament. When he has that run of bad luck (which all players get) find a good safety shot and wait for another chance.
Higgins may well be the best player in the game right now, and may even be the best all round player ever. Even if he goes on to win 4 more World Championships he will never have the class or dignity of Reardon, Davis or Hendry and will therefore never have the popularity of those 3 players.
As for the scandal. As a bettor how would you feel if it came to light that you had placed a bet (not matched bet) on a fixed game? A bet which never had a chance of winning! I've seen the video footage of the sting. Higgins didn't appear too scared to me. Also he had the opportunity to report what had happened to the governing body, thus removing any suspicion of cheating, but chose not to. Anyone who is prepared to fix events in order to profit should be thrown out of their sport for life, to protect the integrity of the sport.
The biggest shock really should be that it was Higgins, a man who had prize money I belive in excess of £3m + sponsorship deals etc. I mean a journey man pro who's never seen that kind of prize money you could understand (not condone) taking the bait.
You just need to ask yourself one question, do you feel lucky punk?....... Well do ya?
He agreed to cheat for money...end of. Should have been banned for life. Just shows you how greedy people can be...
