Something tells me I'm not going to get thanked for this post:
Carl is probably a nice guy but he cannot do anything if the bookmaker is broke. No one can do anything in that type of situation.
And you also want to add "bonus whores as only customers" as one of the reasons for bookmakers going bust, probably even more important that slow to move lines and small customer base (ask Robert at Bet911)

Pierlugi,
I don't think anyone expects him to be some sort of miracle worker. If someone does then sadly they have misunderstood his role.
The reason we like Carl is that is unique in dealing with his players. With most bookies you are just a number, and if you go on live chat with Bookmaker and talk to them about something, then talk to the same person two hours later, chances are they won't remember who you are and you have to explain your issues again.
Sure he hooks us up with good deals, but let's be honest here, it is not like we can't get better deals elsewhere. I can go get a 50% right now with Wagerweb or some other semi-dodgy book. Bethorizon probably have a lot of undesireables, but they have been around for a long time and they have pretty much a flawless record. The same cannot be said about bet911, although they were top notch in a 6 months window last year.
Now, I'm off to read the interview

Good interview! Hopefully someone learned a thing or two about how offshore bookmakers work.
It would have been interesting to hear what other bookies he have worked for though. I also wonder if by "(...)do pretty well when I follow certain players" he means that he can spy on the clients or if he follows them on forums or something. It can probably be very lucrative to have access to player histories really.

I didn't say anything about deals nor BetHorizon, but you are insulting "flawless" and "top notch" by making those statements.

Glad you enjoyed reading Carl obviously has the opportunity to read and answer any questions by yourself or other TGT'ers put in this thread if he wants to do that.
On the question of previous work, when I write to people at books then I do have that as a subquestion which readers don't actually see but it does get asked... the interviewee receives something like:
Can you tell us about your career to date?
(Perhaps mention your previous companies/roles)
With Richie (Expekt) for example, he painted the general picture of how he got to his current stage in his career but never mentioned another company so it may be the case that is how the answer will come back much of the time.

pier0,
If you don't mind telling me, what did Bet911 do wrong between may 2009 (when I first became aware of them) and to the day Carl left them? I had some of the best experiences ever during that time with Bet911.
As for Bethorizon, I would be interested to hear if you have received any complaints about them over at bmr or if you have seen anything elsewhere that would put my flawless comment to shame.
