    Cleaning a laptop

I am looking at cleaning the laptop screen and keyboard and am wondering what to buy/use to do it. Would also like some tips about taking of the back to clean there. Is it worth the hassle for a novice to do this?

Never did the last laptop as it was her work's one!

    Cheers in advance.

I use Auto Glym Fast Glass and a microfibre cloth, works a treat... not that I'm an obssesive car cleaner or anything . Any decent (fast evaporating) glass cleaner works well... although probably not so well on the insides!

Dont know the more technical stuff, but I am a fan of taking the vacuum cleaner nozzle to the keyboard after turning it upside down and shaking it to get rid of the build-up of debris below the keys. If you are going to do this, be careful as you can/will vacuum the keys right off the keyboard. I use a strainer between the nozzle and the keyboard to stop this.

    +1

Amazing stuff, and very useful for the insides of your PC too. Just be careful when you use and make sure you don't turn it upside down....

Also, for the screen, and decent quality microfibre cloth & water will suffice. I use E-cloth.

You're not meant to use these to clean PCs.

The correct use is to fill the nozzle with salt or sugar, then aim it at the back of the neck of a disliked work colleague before pressing the trigger

Stings like a bitch & they literally don't know what's hit 'em, there is nothing visible for them to see.

If you put a sheet of plastic wrap over the keyboard and fasten it down with a few pieces of scotch tape it will do a remarkable job for you to keep debris out. Have to change it every 3 months or so.

I bought this from Amazon to clean my LCD screens. Works a treat, and less than a fiver.
