Big Brother XI - Final Series

Big brother is back tonight, hopefully they'll make the last show the best one.

New series. Davina McCall presents the last-ever series of the reality show as the new housemates arrive at the compound. However, they will have to undergo a pre-selection process in front of the crowd and TV viewers before the competition begins, because there will be more hopefuls than the house can hold

Agreed (not sure if you're serious though)....

In theory I would have been building a book on it but I think I will wait until after the WCup has finished. Maybe some backs and lays as they go in hoping for a quick trade. Since it is such an open race I will bet along the lines of lay the favourites and back the freaks. Not very scientific.

Has anyone who has followed say at least three seres of BB and bet/traded on it noticed any sort of trend? I guess all kinds of different characters have won it but for example, if there's a blazing row between two people then does it seem to have any kind of impact as a general guide in terms of shortened odds for eviction? If two look like they're going to get it on, do their odds for eviction lengthen on the basis people want to see them get it on?!

I have watched them all and the winners have all tended to be the nicer (but dimmer) people, a lot of them dullards but the public seems to like an underdog.

It is rare for an early favourite to stay favourite for the whole series, that is a LONG time to stay popular. Everyone has a shelf life. I think only Pete managed it. Most of the time I can remember the eventual winners were all 30+ to win it at one point, certainly Sophie and Nardia were higher than that for long stretches. Once you are down to the last few weeks though the favourite then usually keeps it people have made their minds up by then.
