    Deal Or No Deal - Take the Money or not?

    Inspired by another forum.

    [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsgzjvjOSs4"]YouTube- ‪DEAL OR NO DEAL - CORINNE INTERVIEW‬‎[/nomedia]

    If you did not watch the video she had 1p and 250k left and was offered £88000 by the banker. She turned it down and got the penny.

    This would be very tough. 37k is a huge amount of EV to turn down, but getting 1p would be a sick feeling and considering how large the offer was it would probably be a reluctant deal. Not 100% sure without being there though and decision could well hinge on mood at the time.

    I voted "Deal - Easy Call". Without a shadow of a doubt. The maths says of course that you are giving away EV, but i've already asked Noel Edmunds and he says if I bust out he won't give me a reload tomorrow.....

    Deal- tough call for me because I would soooo want to take that chance for the quarter million. However, £88,000 is a crap load of money for me and it would make a nice difference to my life. Not 'life altering' difference, but a nice difference

    The thing about it being +EV isn't really relevant here, because it's a once in a lifetime offer, so how much £88,000 means to you is much more important in your decision making process.

    Wouldn't you just shrug it off and say "hey what the heck - I am +EV in the long run?"

    Good point that - £88 K is a huge amount of money, but as you say it isn't "life altering", that might raise eyebrows but while 88K may pay off your mortgage, it won't allow you to put an extension on the back with a temparature controlled paradise inside, with palm trees, bubbly bath thingy, champagne on tap and regular bikini parties with swimsuit models in attendance.

    Am I aiming for too much?
