    I have to brag!

    Victoria Azarenka -170 Bet Phoenix
    Vera Zvonareva +176 5dimes

I locked in this arb Friday before all the rain delays hit and delayed until today. Azarenka retired early in the second set. According to the rules bets are refunded if a player retires early at Bet Phoenix and at 5dimes they just have to complete 1 set for the wager to stand.

So my bet was refunded at Bet Phoenix and I cashed for a profit of almost $500 at 5dimes!!!!

I lost a couple hundred on an early retirement a few months ago. You win some you loose some.

I'll admit I was lucky here and don't advise everyone wagering when there a difference in the tennis rules from one book to another. I feel the early retirement doesn't happen too often so I felt it was worth the gamble.

Now its time to go find my next victim!

Well done! I lost £100 just the other day due to a retirement. It has been a while since I got lucky.

By the way, I thought 5Dimes was "ball served", i.e. one point and not first set complete?

    Enjoy your money!

Thx Nintendo2k. You are probably correct on the ball served rule. I was just happy it cashed!

I wonder if there is a statistic on the percentage of retirements vs completed matches? I am thinking 1%-5%? Or I could be way off on my numbers.

There is an argument that it is worth doing Tennis bets with rule differences if there is a heavy favourite, if you assume it is a 50/50 split which one of them is more likely to be injured and not complete.
Have a plan and stick to it
