taking a risk
i used to go on the blue Square game lucky squares( i think it was called that) you had to predict the outcome of 6 balls and i used to do either more odds, more evens or 3 of each. Iused to wait until a combination had not come up for a while and then bet accordingly. I made about £500 in a few months, i was sweating a few times. the game is no longer on the site. Anybody else tried this one
I'm a gambler at heart, lost about 2k on poker over a couple of years (Thinking I could make it as a pro lol) Now I only gamble if I know I have a very good chance of making money. Just Business to me
I am doing betfair multiples but I bias them to mean a loss (not terrible) if I get one or two of my outsiders win AND the evens bet team win.
I get the evens team to play first. If they lose I am in profit whatever. If not then I am looking at a loss if outsiders win. So I then either let it ride or sometimes back the otsider a bit more to be safe.
Next week's multiple offer is more of a mug than normal - and I am thinking of just mugging some trebles/quads....tut
Tonight I did the 5fold and didn't lay the evens back bet at the beginning. I sort of fell into doing this - it wasn't a thoroughly thought out strategy. And because it's only half money back it one loses I was really gambling with a £50 loss.
Luckily they won and I have now locked in a £150 profit (I think) but I must get to grips and do this in the methodical way I match bet. The multiples have put me up but it has been half stragegy and half gambling.
On the horse racing multiples I have decided not to do them anymore. I have won big and lost big on them and I am trying to consolidate the profit I have more.

The bad thing about that is i was out with mates, went off to get food, and it seemed a logical choice at the time!
Nah, but i think more to your question, aside from that I dont really gamble. I do on the odd occasion if odds move quickly in the wrong way to lay, dont bother reworking the odds, and let my original lay go in-play unmatched, and if the odds slide back in then its a bonus.
An occasional -50 say once a month i think it happens doesnt really affect my profit here too much tbh.
I'm advantage gambling at the moment. Using the £50 betfair refund to help me gamble on 5 folds with some of the risk removed. I am £850 up in 20days - even with £350 of losses). The way I see it I am now using free profit to leaverage good chances of more.
A big loss will be upsetting and I have rode my luck a few times - but it's going ok.
I was looking at Betfair forum for the first time ever and someone had a thread called bet of the day. Said a Slovak team that was 2.25 were unbeaten this season and were playing the bottom club. I stuck a £10 on it and they won.
Now that is gambling ;-)
I can strongly suggest that everyone should keep a record of each and every bet they have
I itemise each betting type
I started keeping records 20 years ago
Then you can ascertain where you can win or where you do lose
There's a mug punter works outside our site at work who loves nothing more than pulling out these battered betslips with double and treble winners on them.
"Look this £20 treble made me £350".
He asked me to refer him to Betfair as he thought the odds would be better.
I put the first few bets on for him and 1st three all won. He turned £30 into £450 in 2 days.
My mates were all saying "Do you think he is good at this? Should we copy his bets?".
I said - "He sells bacon sandwiches to us sitting in a caravan all day. Do you think he wins all the time?".
