Well he must have been convincing 'cos everyone, including ex-pro commentators, seemed to bandy his propaganda around!

Now, IMHO Stephen Hendry is the greatest player ever and some of his achievements will probably never be eclipsed. The game is so competitive it is hard to imagine anyone winning 7 World Tiles ever again. I enjoyed watching him play and I was a big fan (Glory hunter !), however I am also a big fan of Ronnie and I love to watch him play the game, he takes me back to being a kid and watching Higgins / White with my Gran. The big surprise though is that I now like Davis too. There's no doubting that over the last 20 years his real character has risen to the surface and I was thrilled a few years back when I got tickets to see the UK Championship Final and Davis got there, only to be beaten by Ding.
Regarding entertaining snooker players, anyone remember Quentin Hann? He was truly entertaining, but hardly great (To be fair he was barely good). Ronnie bridges the gap that his predecessors (with the exception of Alex Higgins) couldn't, he's entertaining and successful.
My point (I think) is that the real fans love snooker, not snooker players. Ronnie will rightly be remembered for his achievements long after he's retired (No-one will ever make a faster 147) but to be truly great he needs a couple more World Titles (which I think he'll get, 2011 is his year), then his name can be mentioned in the same sentence as the words Hendry, Davis, Reardon & snooker legend.
You just need to ask yourself one question, do you feel lucky punk?....... Well do ya?
Gotta agree with Fella in that I can't stand the bloke as a person and his constant "I've got such a hard life" really does grate with me - he should try being a 24/7 carer for a family member with a untreatable disease - that would be a hard life.
However I do completely think he is the most naturally gifted snooker talent to ever play snooker. The reason he is not the greatest "player" of all time is because his temperment prevents him from being so. I think if Hendry in his peak played O'Sullivan on a good day - O'Sullivan would win 9 times out of 10.
I also think he is really what is keeping snooker entertaining because of unpredictability which is what keeps people interested (or someone who dominates the game - of which there is no-one who can do this at the moment) - I think the darts analogy by wobbler that it is boring cos Taylor wins all the time is way off the mark - the popularity of the game during Taylor's reign has grown 10 fold and he's made the pub game a worldwide sport in which very good players can now make a very good living - actually I'll edit that - just noticed wobbler just said he'd gone off it in his opinion not that it'd been detrimental to the game - my apologies
Ronnie O'Sullivan snooker app is free on the iphone for this week. I know he's everyone's favourite player after all...
I tried downloading the application but it kept quitting halfway through.
I bet there's no cash prize for making a maxi either...
