Cheers for the heads up.
Hope the Hammers lose tomorrow. Knowing our defence (sic) however you are likely to put 5 past us.

Only scored 3 goals in the last 4 games and looking very ordinary, think it will be closer then you think! Might even have an insurance bet on Derby AH0 today

I noticed this was mentioned in the TGT email recently, HBO have cancelled the show already because of a horse death on set, apparently 2 others died aswell 'Luck' Cancelled -- HBO To Shut It Down For Good After Horse Death

Yes is a real shame, really enjoyed that first series, the season finale was brilliant.
There was even something in Private Eye about it along the lines of:
Number of horses killed filming the recently cancelled HBO series 'Luck': 3
Number of horses killed during Cheltenham festival: 13
:/

I really enjoyed this show, was the usual high quality stuff from HBO. I know some people find some of their things like this and Boardwalk Empire a bit slow at times but these are some of the best things being produced, including feature films. So long may it continue. All power to their elbow and look forward to seeing what they come up with in the future.

Agree Eddie about luck,i thought it was a great show.Im hoping they sort something out and make another series.I believe they could do it using old footage of races this then stopping the accidents happening to horses.Heres hoping.

I know what you mean... I reckon the boxset would be a good Xmas / Birthday present, watch the whole thing in 2-3 sittings... wish I could 'unsee' it now and stick it on my wishlist.
Reminded me of Milch's last(?) show (about surfing) which also only lasted for 1 season and was probably even more of a slowburner / kind of show you really have to stick at for a few episodes initially / pay attention to to actually get what is being said. Milch's writing reminds me of Shakespeare somehow (not that I like Shakespeare but the language is equally obtuse for want of a better word - obtuse in a good way, is there such a word? ).

Milch started with Hill Street Blues, created NYPD Blue, Deadwood and Luck and some other series which only lasted one season called John from Cincinatti (maybe this was the surfing thing, munk?) back in 2006 for HBO which I am now gonna try and download to watch sometime. He clearly loves the English language with Deadwood being the high watermark I guess in the that regard.
