No get up and go...
OK I have not looked at this site for several weeks now, barely gambled in 6 weeks. Just about the biggest break I have had, and I just can't bring my self to continue since an error I made went against me a few weeks back.
The mistakes I make, which are rare, but they happen to all of us, always go against me, just as this one did. Unfortunatley it was a largish correct score bet, I lost both sode, and it ate a good 1/3 of my float, weeks and weeks of work down the drain. And I lost the kind of money I just can't afford to lose.
I know its money that I would not have otherwise had, I know I can make it back. However it seems to have killed my entusiasm. My float which was not huge anyway is now so small anything I do now will be a hard slog :/
When I can be bothered I will try and find some easy subs I suppose to work my way back into a grove again :/
Moral of the story, don't be distracted by yer kids and mistanly lay the wrong score just because the odds are the same as the score you actually want!

We've all been there at some point. I went to bed last night knowing that because of a mistake a certain spread of scores in a basketball game would have cost me up to £1k in losses (to cover the losses would have cost a fair bit).
This game isn't for everyone, especially if you're wagering money you can ill afford to lose.

It is the minority who can maintain dedication 24/7 and not lapse and become complacent in something you do day in day out.
Your float shouldn't really be money you can't afford to lose, but I would lie if I say I haven't put money in the ring that I shouldn't off.
Do the lowest risk offer going, do whatever you can force yourself to do, if it takes 6 months to get back to where you were than fine.

Sorry to hear that drat. Mistakes are a part of this lark and often a sign that you need a break and a re-think.
Maybe thats your challenge - to get it back however long it takes. With Cheltenham round the corner and a whole summer of sport ahead its the right time to jump back in.

See mistakes - Search Results - The Gambling Times - might make you feel a bit better seeing everyone else's mistakes.

This is an incredibly good attitude to have, the worst thing that could possibly have happened is you get cross and chase the losses. Being angry and deciding to stop is very very wise. It is the hardest thing to do, but the wise things always are.

This is a worry, its a bit late now but NEVER gamble money you cant afford to lose. It is possibly the one and only universal rule which everyone will agree to. Ideally you should be able to lose any amount from your bankroll and just shrug because as you say it was never really your money in the first place. If you cant, then reduce your bankroll.

Welll yes, I have done that before but with a different distraction. Mistakes do happen to us all and they really do go for you as often as they go against, you just feel it more when they go against.
Overall perhaps dont come back to it, if you are not going to enjoy it, which is a very important part, then dont do it then. Making money is one thing, but it does have to be fun too otherwise you might as well do some overtime at work. Good Luck whatever you decide.
Have a plan and stick to it

I have laid the wrong horse before because the odds were the same and the names were similar these types of mistakes occur. Its certainly unfortunate when it is money you can't afford to lose. Taking a break and coming back with a bit more hunger for it has worked for me when i've felt similarly.
