    hmm??

    Not Chocolate Poker then??

I will be back later to post some of the biggest hands of the week on a seperate thread. If you've seen any monster pots that weren't played by the Full Tilt Nose Bleed Crew, let me know. . .

Look forward to seeing some more soon.

OK here's the explanation behind the outwardly strange play in the OP.

In fact the hand was the 40 billionth hand dealt at Pokerstars recently:

Breaking: PokerStars deals its 40 billionth hand - PokerStars Poker Blog

    The unedited HH is here:
    PokerStars Game #40000000000: Hold'em No Limit ($2/$4 USD) - 2010/02/19 12:43:11 ET
Table 'Naef III' 6-max Seat #3 is the button
Seat 1: Senecady ($117 in chips)
Seat 2: Joe Hahn ($412 in chips)
Seat 3: zawaaa ($266.45 in chips)
    Seat 4: 13_Xerxes_13 ($400 in chips)
    Seat 5: thecooler992 ($142.55 in chips)
Seat 6: jeckjeck ($515.40 in chips)
    13_Xerxes_13: posts small blind $2
    thecooler992: posts big blind $4
    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    jeckjeck: folds
Senecady: raises $113 to $117 and is all-in
Joe Hahn: raises $295 to $412 and is all-in
    zawaaa: folds
    13_Xerxes_13: folds
    thecooler992: calls $138.55 and is all-in
Uncalled bet ($269.45) returned to Joe Hahn
    *** FLOP *** 7♠Q♥7♦
    *** TURN *** 7♠Q♥7♦T♣
    *** RIVER *** 7♠Q♥7♦T♣7♣
    *** SHOW DOWN ***
thecooler992: shows 5♦K♥ (three of a kind, Sevens)
Joe Hahn: shows J♦K♦ (three of a kind, Sevens)
thecooler992 collected $25.55 from side pot
Joe Hahn collected $25.55 from side pot
Senecady: shows K♣T♠ (a full house, Sevens full of Tens)
Senecady collected $350 from main pot

Everyone who was lucky enough to be sitting at the table the 40,000,000,000 hand fell on would get would get $400 for each VPP they had collected at that table over the last 40 hands. The winner would get double that. And since this was a reasonably decent-stakes game, that mean that winning the hand was worth a cool $24,000.

So in fact thecooler992, Joe Hahn & Senecady each played this hand perfectly. And it was the other three donks who played dreadfully. With that kind of bonus going to the winner of the hand all 6 players should have instantly gone all-in.

Sidebar - I have watched lots of these milestone hands & every time without exception half the table folds. There really is no excuse for this as you can't mistake that you're in a milestone hand - the action is frozen for a few minutes before the hand is dealt & the chatbox flashes up large messages of what's going on. The fact that so many people fold must mean that either there are some REALLY dreadful players out there, or a lot more bot software than anyone thinks.....

A bit of a trick HH but wanted to kick off the board with something

    Haha

    Ha ha,

That is a unique situation, and you're right the players in the pot all played 100% correctly, losing $100+ to win $20,000+, who would do any different?

Great first hand, with a twist

I've put a genuine hand on the new thread, it was the biggest online pot ever played and happened within the last couple of months.

That's a pretty good twist! I was really thinking WTF when I was reading the initial hand history so at least it makes a little sense to me now!
