Idea - linked sites
Hi,
Just a random idea really:
How about a part of the site that lists the relationships between gaming/other sites?
Stuff like:
- What sites have the same ownership?
For instance I only recently found out that Betclic, Expekt & Bet-At-Home all have the same owner (Mangas Gaming). That kind of info is useful in two ways: (1) People are far more likely to signup to a new site if it's owned by the same Company as an established "trustworthy" site & (2) The exact opposite - to help people avoid new sites that are run by known rogue/iffy ownership.
- What restrictions are there (if any) regarding sites with the same ownership?
Some (like the aforementioned Betclic/Expekt/BAH owners) don't seem to care less if you have accounts at all 3. Others forbid it. Others allow it but only allow a bonus at one site etc. All good info to have.
- What sites are skins of others but under different ownership.
Once again, useful info. If you know for example, that Jaxx uses Mybet odds, you know that any matches you find for Mybet will be good at Jaxx. The same applies to Tobet & Nordicbet. Even fairly obvious-seeming stuff, like the fact that Betmate is a lower commission skin of Betdaq, is not as widely known as it might seem.
That's just a few examples of what I'm thinking of but there are tons of "relationships" & tons of ways whereby knowing that those relationships exist might be useful. F'rinstance knowing that PaddyPower now own Iasbet (IIUC) is useful because (A) It will make some people happier having funds at Iasbet & (B) It may prompt people to signup to Iasbet sooner rather than later, on the logic that Paddy may merge them into the general PP site at some point. (who knows, just a random example).
A year or so ago knowing that Absolute Poker & UltimateBet poker had much of the same ownership was certainly useful: a few months after UB admitted that cheating was going on by certain players (former employees IIRC) Absolute had to admit the same thing....
Other relationships: Sites that use the same ecashier, sites that use the same casino software, sites that are skins of the same poker engine, sites that use the same poker software but AREN'T skins of one big engine, etc etc etc. Even some of the more esoteric relationships (The fact that 365 Media group, who own Sporting Life, also own Oddschecker) may turn out to be useful.
Anyway, I'd love this feature but I don't know whether anyone else thinks it'd be useful (or if it's something TGT is interested in doing) but I thought I'd mention it. I think it would be quite hard to do comprehensively although I guess it would be quite easy to implement a non-comprehensive section caveated to say that you can't vouch 100% for the accuracy of any info there (because I think ownership of sites, particularly gambling sites, can get very murky). Possibly the way to approach it would be to first try to define the different types of relationships, then list the sites that fall under each category?
Anyway, if I'm the only person that thinks this is vaguely worthwhile then that was a lot of typing for nothing lol. But I definitely think it'd be both interesting & useful.
cheers

It is all good information to know, I will get it specifically added to each of the TGT reviews as and when they are updated. The problem is (as always) keeping it up to date and accurate but I agree it cant hurt to know.
Have a plan and stick to it

Keeping it up to date, really just depends on how the site templates built.
You could simply create a new table(SQL) which you add the various fields you require, and then get this to filter through to details about each bookie.
Then its a simple case of updating the table, and it updates results for all bookies related to that 1 update.
Depending on who runs this site, will effect if you could implement something as such should you wish to choose so.
