@brillo - should be working ok, just click post new thread at top of the forum you want to post in?
sorry munk, I don't seem to be able to see a "post new thread" anywhere. Am having a problem with my eyesight though, so may be it's there and I just don't see it - - - is there a link for starting a new thread?

Are you definitely in a forum view (ie not thread view). 'Post new thread' won't show if you're in a thread view (ie like the view you're in now, viewing a thread) because you can't post a new thread from within a thread(!).
You want to browse to the forum you want to post in first (ie goto The Gambling Times - Home then click on the forum you want to post a new thread in, then once in the forum click on 'post new thread'). Hope that makes sense!
Actually just thinking one new feature is the 'like post' plugin - now every post should have the option for you to 'Like' it (and for you to 'Thank' the user as well like before).
BUT it could be useful in this thread, if you read something that you agree with maybe if you click 'Like' then we can get an idea for how many people think the suggestion is a good idea (ie like site width being too big or not liking link's blinking at you ).
Also something I was thinking about was whether we should have it as 'Like' or whether it might be better as 'Agree'? Bit of a semantic thing really and not that important right now! A lot of the time though I find myself clicking 'thanks' (or did do on the old forum) just to 'acknowledge' a post - ie if I didn't think it was worth replying to because there was nothing for me to say, but still I wanted to convey the fact I'd red and understood it.... but maybe that's just me I don't know.
Gah... headfsck now, I bet loads of people will click 'like' and I won't know whether you like the idea of keeping it as like or changing it to 'agree'....
I think get rid of "like" and "dislike" it is not a benefit. There is already "Thanks" which does a job and any more than that is overkill there is no need for both it would be one or another way to do it. Also there is no need to dislike, if you cant say something nice then dont say anything at all.
Having a little idea about the effort that goes on to make alterations and upgrades, can I just extend my thanks to those working on this? And it's good to see the posts reporting issues etc to help iron things out. That is all!

Mmm I can see it both ways, I'm torn really.
I was going to write this but not sure really:
Well... you see right now I DO want to thank you for your post, but I don't necessarily want to click on 'Like' because I don't like your idea!!
I think having 'Like' and 'Dislike' is a good thing in addition to the Thanks, kind of gives it a bit of extra ... granularity - like I say sometimes you want to say thanks for the reply but you might not necessarily agree with what was said if that makes sense.
I don't know, see if anyone else likes my idea vs yours heh.
The other day I actually did think to myself 'we need a "muppet"' button (some guy aftertiming on lots of threads and not doing much else), in a way it could actually diffuse arguments before they've started by letting people show they disagree with what someone said without having to have anyone call anyone hitler or make any other references to Nazism if you know what I mean.... I forget that 'Law' now?!
I quite like the idea of the like/dislike buttons though myself... you can change the naming of them though so instead of 'Like' have 'Agree' or whatever and then instead of dislike have 'Muppet'.
Ok well maybe not completely serious about muppet but it's an idea having some way of disliking a post without having to go on and have a proper rant at them and cause chaos.
Also if you get enough dislikes on a post then it can create enough negative karma for them to be flagged up as dodgy and then acted upon it maybe with infractions.
That is one thing I love though, the new quotes!!!
EDIT:
Also only just noticed that when one or more posts within a thread are 'liked', a list of all the liked posts pops up at the top of the thread at the right of the first post in it (look for a heart!). Quite neat that, lets you easily navigate to those posts that were useful.

(Back to my dissertation I go *sigh*)
That reminds me of another new feature of the chatbox - you can now report abusive chats by clicking on the dropdown list to the left of people's chats in the chatbox. Also there is the option to ban people from within the chatbox for mods and to use the IRC-like 'action verb' '/me' - try typing in '/' and waiting and it should show you a list of possible command completions available to you.
So for example to say 'I'm off for dinner' you would type in '/me is off for dinner' and it would display '* munk is off for dinner' in the chatbox.
There is also the option of having multiple channels now in the chatbox depending on which usergroup you are in which has a lot of possibilities - ie completely random example: everyone that subscribed to the Big Brother Celeb sweepstake could get their own chatbox to chat about just CBB. Not sure about that example but you get the idea, would really want to be something that a lot of people would use I think (arbing chatbox maybe?).
That's a very low resolution to be using (although it was popular in the 90's!) You could always try the <ctrl>- key combination to 'zoom-out' and see if it's still readable.
OK, my main computer is the same resolution too, but the problem I think is "monitor size". Ctrl - does work, but it does mean the font is a lot smaller than it when compensating for the extra borders
I would really love it if the tapatalk plugin was re-enabled please for reading the forum on the iPhone
This was the only forum of interest to me that had the plugin, but the app was well worth buying for that alone when on the move looking for new posts etc as it saved me having to fire up the computer
