How do I change the title of a thread

    Hi

I'd like to change the title of a thread I started.

Its the JPJ casino Heist offer, which this time requires £300 to qualify rather than £200. I'd also like to mention he fact its back in the title. How do i do this?

Above the first post in the thread do you see an option "Administrative"? Click on it and then "Edit thread", and there you can change the title. If you can see that then let me know and I will change it for you.

    Hi otsg,

Generally when you name threads please don't mention specific money amounts in the thread title (since most offers (like this one) tend to change on an ongoing basis and so the thread title is not really useful/reliable for keeping a note of what the current offer is). Same goes for dates as well.

Also if you can please try not to use abbreviations in the thread titles that would be good, a while back I changed the title of yours from 'jpj' to Jackpotjoy (jpj isn't obvious and it is not searchable either so not a good thing to have in a title).

All of that said, well thanks for posting anyway, doesn't matter if you don't want to do either of those things but it would help!

Re the general question about changing thread titles, unfortunately you can't change the thread titles but if you want it doing just click on 'report post' on the first post of the thread and one of the mods will change it for you (or just PM one of the mods).

    Cheers.

Thanks Munk, I will do that.

Perhaps I should have started a new thread and linked to the old one. The problem is, how does someone scrolling through know if an offer interests them without going in and reading every one. Once I've done an offer I don't look at the posts within, as if I did I would have less time to make any money! If the thread title says something like back 16th Jan, then someone scanning through realises that it is relevant again.

Putting in the amounts in the thread title also makes it easy to decide whether the thread is worth a peak.

I take your point about JPJ, I don't know where I picked that habit up from, but I'll put Jackpotjoy in future. I usually remember to tag the thread, but that's not consistent with what I've said above with information in the title.

Anyway I will post in future in line with what you have said.

I agree with an awful lot of what you said, there is no real "right" or "wrong" way as such it is all swings and roundabouts. Just get the info out there and we will do our best to make it look tidy and be consistent. I think thats the point munk was making it is all we can do really. Thanks for your help

Yes like Andy says there's no right or wrong way, there are pros and cons to what you say and to what I say and there isn't really any definitive way of how it should be done, do what you want really within reason but they may be liable to change to be honest so don't take offence if that happens, I edit thread titles generally if they are old / inconsistent / no longer true / don't read very well / merged with other threads / split from other threads / to be used for ongoing offers / any of a hundred other reasons(!).
