    Successful Xmas MTT! :)

    Hi,

I hope you've all had a great holiday and looking at these posts I am very happy that you all (nearly all) had a good tournament. I was not around to watch it, but I am hoping to be a bounty when we run another one, very soon I hope.
If there are any comments regarding the structure just let me know, as anything can be customised to make it the best tournament for everybody. Blinds, chips stacks etc can all be changed.
Looking forward to crediting all the winners, and look speak to you all soon.

    Kindest festive regards,
    Chris @ Chilipoker

It was a great tournament and I think everyone really enjoyed it.

I think the structure could be tweaked a little to make it better though. Starting with 3000 stacks and 10/20 blinds ith 15 min intervals makes for a very long game. With only 37 people the tourney shouldn't really take 4 hours and I think that's doubly true for the group playing here. We're mostly out for a good time and some friendly poker (at least I am, I think most others are as well). It's my opinion that most people are not interested in grinding it out for 4+ hours.

That said, it's nice to have a balance, blinds that go up too fast cause a 'crap-shoot' style tourney that doesn't really reward quality play. So I wouldn't want to see 5 min blinds either.

If you keep the same blinds and chip stack, then maybe 10 min intervals.
If you want to keep 15 min intervals, then maybe start with only 1500 chips and keep the same blinds, or start with 3000 but have the blinds start somewhere more like 25/50.

Those are my suggestions, I'm sure there will be people along with other suggestions

Thanks for hosting it and adding the prize money, it really was a great tourney
