TGT Spring Tournament III - Wed 2nd Feb
The password is "Viking". Hopefully it will be this password from now until Tournament XII when it will change again. As this game is not a freeroll it is unlikely we will be swamped with people not from TGT looking to get in, if that does start to happen then the password will change each week and be available from any moderator.
To find the tournament it is in the lobby, the details are:
Tournament #215832100 (02/02/2011 14:30 ET / 19:30 GMT) Called "TGT Spring League - Tourney III"
It is a $5 tournament (actually costs $6 to register) and has an additional $5 buy in if you are knocked out early as an option.
For details of the League please see here:

Any other questions and/or to discuss the game please do so here, thanks.

Are we able to get the blind structure relaxed if there are under a set number of players - i.e slightly longer blind levels to begin with?
I think that would bring out peoples play better, rather than getting short stacked quicker, and having to choose an oppertunity to push.
**Edited to explain further***
Last week we only had 13 players, with a 1500 starting stack.
If noone re-bought, then in the space of an hour, the blings become 60/120.
At this point, there are 13*1500 = 19500 chips in play, which is the equivalent of 162 big blinds, or 12.5 big blinds each if it is still even(aka not a lot).
What I am trying to suggest, is that after an hour, yes there will be some players who have busted, but the average at the start is 50 big blinds, if you follow this rule through to the 1 hour point, this would mean 3.24 players(which wont happen).
As such, unless you have done really well and quadrupled up, everyone at the hour point has less of a chip count respectively than when they started, unless there are less than 4 players.
I hope this makes sense - lengthen/double the blind levels for the first hour at least or something.
CHeers,
Dire.

I certainly see what you mean, but you have to remember that some people don't want a game that lasts 3-4 hours.
Already it often goes quite late for poor sods like myself that have to get up early for work.

I actually remembered the tournament today and am available at this time today. Good luck guys. Watch out for voltron

We dont have much control over the blind structure but I will ask them and see what they say.
Goodluck kid (voltron!)
Also I agree that a 3hr finish is long enough, 2-3 hours is about the right length of time for a $5 buy in. If it was for more serious money then obviously you wont mind playing longer but the most you wll win here is maybe $50 regardless.

good times guys. i mentioned something to my original table on the start, but the world series of poker schedule is up now. basically the same as always, going on the whole month of june, and early july. I will be there for sure, probably longer then normal because of the success i have had playing in tournaments in vegas the past 6 months. So if anyone is planning a vegas trip, try to go in june and we can meet up and i will get you some beers or shots.
I will also be there again march 6th to 10th. trying out the 1 bedroom sky suites at the aria. Newer casino so want to try it out. Just got back from there a couple weeks ago and stayed at the mirage, a little dissappointed in the rooms there. Havent stayed there in about 10 years. Back then i thought the rooms were pretty nice, but now with all these newer places opening up and making their rooms so nice, made the mirage looked inferior (room wise at least).

Yes, that was fun. I am a heads up expert, well I play a ton of heads up when i play online at least. Mainly because it used to be a weak part of my game about 8 years ago, so now when at home chillin, will play a couple 20-50 buy in heads up tournaments. SO have had a lot of practice over the years.
But the style you were playing usually gives me a ton of problems. YOu didnt raise much at all preflop or come out betting a ton. Basically you were playing a style that gave me no information on your hands. when you didnt raise preflop and hit aces up, and basically doubled up and got close in chips, if you would have received a couple decent hands right then, i would have been in bad shape.
