Just wanted to say thanks for all the help posted here from various sources relating to the spin £300 total goals offer - I used the spreadsheet in the end but wouldn't have been able to understand it without all the worked examples (blowingbubbles esp!)
I tried holding out until the 'one goal or more' odds improved - ended up waiting til half time before my nerve broke and took odds of 1.32, after one disallowed goal and a penalty!
Cleared £180 which I am very pleased with, and that was the lowest of the outcomes I had locked in.
Thanks again and if anyone wants help with this in future give me a shout as I understand it now!
Anyone know exactly how the Betfair reduction factor for non-runners on the horses works? I have often seen warnings about horse racing matched betting because of Rule 4 issues but, on the occasions I have experienced it, it has always worked in my favour. For instance yesterday I had £50 on a small arb at 8.0/7.6. One of the runners was withdrawn and my back bet won, paying out at 7.3/6.4 after adjustment and increasing my profit by something over £28. Obviously, I wouldn't have made that if it had lost, but I wouldn't have been any worse off either.
Probably the wrong thread for this as it's a technical question. I'm having a problem opening one of the Casino threads - it's on the third page and it's the one about the Victor Chandler £25 casino money (last post by Thanatos on 02/06). I just keep getting a message "Internet Explorer Cannot Open . . . Aborted" and then it quits. Is it just me or is there a problem with this thread. If it is just me, can anyone suggest what I need to do? Thank you!
You could try opening it in a different browser. Alternatively just give it a while, sometimes the hamsters that run (around inside) the webserver take a break... it will probably be ok by the time you read this

i am quite embarrassed to to have to ask this but i am having a bad day and cannot work this out.
i had a back voided by bookie but had already layed, in hindsight it was too good an arb and should have held back on the LAY as KO is not for 2 days.
anyhoo heres my position.
i have £611.28 LAYED at Betmate @ average odds of 1.50 and a liability of £307.05
as soon as my back was voided i went to back it out at BM to minimise loss but of course the market is dead with no money at all.
BF is currently 1.12 to BACK, best bookie odds is 1.36.
so my current best option is to BACK 1.36, BUT how much?
going back to BM and i would have just BACKED £611.28?
i just cant get my head around the sums as what to do.
any help appreciated.
I just use the matcher spreadsheet - putting the odds in and fiddling around with the backstake until the odds are near enough the same.
I calculate a back stake of £660.72 for a £67.78 loss either way.
You might do better holding off and seeing if BetDaq gets a bit more liquidity nearer the game
And maybe also post what game it is.. It could be that a book have good odds for it. Maybe also look out for +0.5 AH dutches..
As above... what game and selection was it exactly - ie:

cheers Tom....maybe just couldnt see the simplicity due to having a loss, but it is indeed simple. thanks.
edit. all sorted now Munk thanks....will be holding fire until nearer the game (48 hours) and hopefully rescue it for a smaller laoss at BM.
it is a O/U market, so no real get out other than BACKING the same.
its the SA V NZ game U3.5 (LAYED)
