Baseball - The Run Line
If I'm trying to match the run line in baseball (handicap) do I back team A at +1.5 and back team B at -1.5? I have worked it out on paper and I think it looks alright, just looking for confirmation.
Also, does betting on the run line cover extra innings in case its a draw after 9?

All other things remaining equal, yes.
The only thing to watch for really (which is usually quite obvious) is if it looks like you have a 180% arb, and both teams are +160 say, they are not the same run line, sometimes one site may give TeamA the head start and other sites TeamB, it doesnt happen often (and its usually in Ice Hockey run lines for some reason) but it does happen. Make sure both teams have the same + and - by them. Then do as you say.
If at all unsure over it before placing the bet go on live chat or phone them and ask, so if TeamA win by 2 what happens I win $X right, and if they win by 1 I lose $X, oh OK. Jot down those figures by those results. Then chat to the other bookmaker, and ask the same questions, jot down the figures. Make sure you get overall figures you are happy with.
When I was starting out and placing bets for $000s for the first times I used to do that so I always knew exactly what would happen and where. After you have done a few you will not have to, but I did to start.

Well you have a +.5 in there so they cant draw
I have never had a rules difference problem at US sites though.
Have a plan and stick to it

Thanks for that. Also, if I back team A at Bookie1 on the run line +1.5 and then back team A on the run line -1.5 at Bookie2, am I covering all bases

Yes. As long as the total of the spreads you bet on are zero or more they are OK.
So TeamA -1.5 vs TeamB +2 is OK because the sum is -1.5 +2 = 0.5.
But TeamA -2 vs TeamB +1.5 is NOT OK though because the total of the spreads is -0.5 (if TeamA won by 2 points, TeamA bet would be 'pushed' whereas TeamB bet would lose because they didn't win with a 1.5 point advantage - so overall you would be down by however much your stake was on TeamB).

Baseball question
Hi guys. A couple of questions.
1.What's the situation wit a book such as partybets which doen't name the starting pitchers. How does one safely match against this.
2. What is 'action'
Cheers

Not sure about the 1st one, but "action" means the bet is active regardless of who is pitching. You can sometimes make a bet on a baseball and stipulate "listed" which basically means the starting pitchers listed have to start or else the bet is canceled.

Thanks.
So basically I would match 'action' with a book like partybets?

i would not match pb with a bookie that that gives you the option of action or listed pitchers as their odds are likely to change if a pitcher change is announced where pbs odds will not change

But surely if you took an action bet, you will get the odds at which you placed your bet at?
