And plenty of batteries I use a wireless mouse on my main PC on the desk which is covered in all sorts of junk and it's a godsend. Saying that, as the batteries begin to die, it becomes really un-responsive with the pointer not moving when I move the thing - annoying is not the word!

I actually got really worried about this one day, I was actually more worried about all that money being tied up on the internet then my slow painful death
So I told my wife everything so if the worse was to happen she could finish any WRs and also gave her enough information to access all my accounts and withdraw.
I too really think this is something people should get sorted out especially if you have £1000s floating around.

This is quite a good point, however it's only going to be possible for someone else to sort this out if you have a Will that leaves your possesions to them (gets very complicated without one) and they'd have to write to said companies to get the money back (which I imagine the bookmakers would give regardless of wagering requirements in a situation like that). I can't imagine anyone close to you is going to want to be matched betting (when they quite possibly have no idea how) in order to withdraw a few £ if you've just died, also it's pretty illegal to bet with someone elses account, especially if they're dead.
What a lovely topic eh!

But your money won't be much use to you if you're gone ;-)
There's loads of things that I deliberately didn't mention about betting and arbing because frankly they are debated much better by other people elsewhere. I thought of this as more of a 'putting things in place' to create the right environment for working in.
My system for recording all this information will change over time. I'm already looking at perhaps applying Getting Things Done to my betting setup. A useful website for general useful tools and information is Lifehacker; there's always something on there that proves useful, even if it is how to open a banana like a monkey or fold a towel properly.

Yes I used to read lifehacker a lot... ironically until I started doing this malarkey and didn't have enough time to read RSS feeds any more. (just reread that and is indeed the pure essence of irony not having time to visit a site that could save you time!)
There are a number of good threads around on the forum that discuss match betting setups. I will try and find the tagged thread for you if I can remember what I tagged them with (EDIT: ok well the main tag is organization, others worth checking out are software, utilities and hardware - see link below under 'tags' heading)
To be fair this thread should probably be merged with this one:
http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...anization.html
But your first post is worthy of leaving in it's own thread I think.
If I could only recommend one organizational tip it would be to check out the ReminderFox addon for Firefox. I have at least one or two reminders set up in ReminderFox every day set to remind me to do various things (check on regular reloads/success of withdrawals/bonus being added to accounts etc etc) and is something I couldn't do without. Sure I could probably manage but it's so convenient as a part of firefox it just fits in really easily.

Some very useful advice. I have been very bad at keeping records lately, but back when I did it for everything I used google docs as my backup host. You can store spreadsheets/docs in both openoffice and excel format. Should probably not save usernames and passwords though. If you have a gmail account you should also make a routine out of going to the bottom of the page and click "Details". Once there you can see the IP addresses that have logged on to the site with your username. You should also have a look at "My security" under my account in Betfair to see the IP's that have accessed your account -- you never know if you have downloaded some sketchy software with a trojan or keylogger or something.
Also take special notice to the advice from musicbox -- get your betfair TAN and/or betfair mobile application.

Whilst I am sure having those details will help enormously, I have just phoned up before and given my online account details and been able to have them lay some bets for me without needing that info.
Have a plan and stick to it

Yup, I think sometimes they might not be a stickler but according to their website, you "must" quote it for phone bets so better off having it to hand just in case. It's a long time ago now but I think Daq/Mate also use one? I'll have a look later after I've got my boy to sleep.

I quite like this post, but something additional I do, is to record the time to withdraw from the bookies should i make a large win at that end.
For example, while looking at arbs, if Bookie A offers slightly better odds than Bookie B, but you can withdraw from Bookie B in24hours, where A takes 48-72hrs, I would almost always go with Bookie B, so i can invest the funds in the next arb.
Obv if you have a large float this doesnt really matter, but its something I like to check up on...
