cheers in advance.
I had the same problem with a numb rear end{the rest of the chair was ok},so i went to my local mobility centre and spent the best £20 ever;
Clearwell Mobility :: Sero Cushion - Deluxe ::

Small addition to my setup: I run the Google Sidebar & I've added the currency converter Gadget - in fact 4 separate instances of it so I can have one setup permanently for each of:
GBP-USD
USD-GBP
GBP-EUR
EUR-GBP
Saves me mucking about with xe.com. Just a little (time)saving but these things add up.

I'll use this thread for my question as it's kinda relevant...
My wireless internet conection is average at the best of times because of the distance between my PC (upstairs) and the router (downstairs). When the other PC is online wirelessly upstairs in the room directly above where the router is, my connection comes to a complete standstill.
When a laptop is on wirelessly downstairs, it has little impact on my connection so it really does seem to be an issue with both being upstairs and connected wirelessly rather than just having 2 wireless connections.
Does anyone use something like this? [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Devolo-MicroLink-dLAN-Highspeed-Starter/dp/B000A7IE7Y]Devolo MicroLink dLAN Highspeed Starter Kit: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo[/ame] and does that kinds of thing sound like a good answer to the problem? I did play with the channels on the router and stuff but whatever I seemed to do it didn't matter once that other upstairs wireless connection was on.

I've not tried those power based networks but have heard they're very good. I suppose you'd put one of the sockets next to the router, hook it up with a LAN cable, then put another one upstairs and again hook your PC up to it via another LAN cable.
The price of those kits seems to have come down a long long way as well in the last 2yrs, I remember when they were around £200 or so, the starter kit there looks to be around just £50 now for a couple of adapters.

I think I'm going to give it a go because even when the other PC isn't crippling my connection, it really could do with being better. But yeah, the way you've described is how they appear to work and reading on different sites in the last hour or two the results seem to be pretty good. It's kinda strange that you generally hear little or nothing about them though considering the reviews people give them and the apparent benefits especially now, as you say, they appear quite affordable.

I would definitely give it a go in a shot if I was having trouble with my wifi. So easy just to plug one of those badboys into a socket near whatever device needs the network, hook up a LAN cable and you're ready to go. In fact I'm tempted to try it anyway with one of the high speed connections they're talking about!
Let us know if you go for it / how it works out.

Think I may give these ones a whirl: Devolo dLAN 200Mbps AVeasy Starter Kit - HomePlug AV/ Powerline (1222 / 1530) - BT Shop
Netgear make some too and I have a Netgear router but I'm not sure that it should matter... I assume the ethernet out of the router doesn't say "ooh, you're not a Netgear homeplug are you?!" and have a hissy fit.
Ebuyer do some which are the cheapest 200mbps I've found: Extra Value 200Mbps Powerline Adapter Twin Pack - Ebuyer but apparently they might play havoc with neighbours and their radio reception or something. It could be utter nonsense, who knows?
Anyway, a 3 year warranty of the more expensive ones and what's probably decent security look a bit better to me but I'll wait til tomorrow before ordering in case anyone has some experience with these things themselves and wants to share it with me.
I suppose I could always go for the 85mbps ones which are cheaper and probably still going to provide a massive improvement anyway.

Really great thread. Thanks for the good suggestions. Started using second screen home and oh boy that makes life so much easier.
Anyway my tiny contribution here would be a tally counter. Tally counter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
You can get one for few quid from Ebay. Really good for those sites that don't have any means of tracking the WR (like Jackpotjoy). Can be a bore to use it when doing a massive WR and I know that there are of course software trackers that does the same but I've found it easier to use tally counter.

I have a couple of those ebuyer extra value 85Mbps adapters does the job nicely, never had a problem.

depending how awash Muso Mansions are with power sockets then might be worth considering:
Solwise PLA-PIGGY6 HomeplugAV 3-port Ethernet Switch W/ 6-Way Surge Protected Multiplug
or maybe
Solwise PASS-PL-200AV-Kit Homeplug AV Starter Kit W/ Mains Pass-Through
broadbandbuyer aren't usually the cheapest so you could prob pick them up cheaper elsewhere
