    Best Bank Account For MB

I am unable to have a Nationwide or Co-op bank account and was wanting to set up a bank account purely for MB purposes that does not charge transaction fees for converting Sterling into Euros and that had a Visa debit card not a Maestro one. Any recommendations gratefully received.

A&L is has a visa debit card, but I believe charge fees. Also £500 a month needs to go in and from what I've heard credits back via the card don't count...

    I use nationwide.....

Can anyone tell me which banks have Maestro cards? I have a NatWest a/c which has a Maestro card but MB won't accept it as it has no issue number (i've spoken to NatWest who told me to use #2 but still no joy). My other banks (HBSC / A&L) both have Visa Debit cards which I think MB charge for?

So, unless I am missing something, I need a new bank a/c with a Maestro card with an issue number for use with MB to get instant deposits with no charge, right?

MB as in moneybookers? moneybookers is fee free for a month or so, so you could take advantage of that with a visa.

You can get instant deposits with no charge if you go to deposit through the bookie's website, choosing moneybookers, it says you dont have enough funds in moneybookers, so offers deposit by card to moneybookers then stright from moneybookers to the bookie. You dont get charged, I assume the bookie does

Bear in mind that they're starting to charge for non-Euro transactions now

To be fair that was a long time ago when I posted that! Yes I think the US charges are going to be 1% from June IIRC? There's a thread about it somewhere I think...

Cheers will do. Have tried 1, spoke to the bank who said it was issue #2 but still no luck so will try 0. Did try etherz method earlier and that seemed to work OK too
