I've been "waiting it out" quite a lot lately just trying to get better odds. I've found my biggest problem is my greed trying to get a little arb into a big one.
Earlier I backed a horse at 11 and kept an eye on the lay odds at BF which steadily dropped. About 10 minutes before the race the odds were fluctuating around the 8 mark! I'd made a good choice, but did I take it and lock in my profit? No I figured they'd be down to 7 before the race start. So I queued at BF but it never made it so it went in running, the odds started creeping up I panicked and changed my odds but not my stake which was matched but locked in a 20p profit if my selection won or £25+ if it lost. The odds did go back down to 7 during running and even went as low as 5. As it was my horse fortunately lost and i made a good return but it was yet another lesson learnt, I'm just not too sure that I will be able to stop being greedy!
From another thread, I see that you downloaded Bettrader, I did as well after the last downtime and I'm in love already. One of the tools that I've found the most useful so far is the Trailing Stop Loss tool. Essentially, if you believe that the odds will start to fall, then you can put in a stop loss that will trigger when the odds go below a certain value and put in a lay automatically when the odds stop falling and start to rise again. Absolutely brilliant, I don't know how I managed before. If anyone's interested, I'll see if I can put a post together that explains how to do it.

Hoping the missus will let me do a bit of matching tomorrow in which case I'll take a few screen shots.
Cue Kiint crashing and burning on the horses tomorrow.
