I have only just begun the process of matched betting with the help of my girlfriend. So far I have signed up to Betfair, Betfred, Bet365, BlueSquare, StanJames and Totesport (all through TGT links!)
However, having so far converted my initial £50 bonus at bet365 into a reasonable £52 profit, I took a look at the T&Cs to check how I could fulfill the next step in receiving a further £50 freebet (5 x £50 qualifying bets). While doing so, I noticed the following condition, which concerned me a little:
Where any term of the offer or promotion is breached or there is any evidence of a series of bets placed by a customer or group of customers, which due to a deposit bonus, enhanced payments, free bets or any other promotional offer results in guaranteed customer profits irrespective of the outcome, whether individually or as part of a group, bet365 reserves the right to reclaim the bonus element of such offers and in their absolute discretion either settle bets at the correct odds, void the free bets or void any bet funded by the deposit bonus. In addition bet365 reserve the right to levy an administration charge on the customer up to the value of the deposit bonus, free bet or additional payment to cover administrative costs. We further reserve the right to ask any customer to provide sufficient documentation for us to be satisfied in our absolute discretion as to the customer's identity prior to us crediting any bonus, free bet or offer to their account.
How exactly can the lovely people at Bet365 gain evidence for this kind of 'abuse'?
I had initially thought to leave my £300 balance in my Bet365 account in order to bet further to qualify for the next £50 freebet, however since reading this I decided to withdraw and then consider re-depositing in £50 increments if and when I decide to try qualifying for the next bonus.
Am I being over-cautious in this instance?!
Its a good point and someone else posted along those lines in another thread i will try to get a link to.
Basically though, it isnt a T&C that has or will ever be used, certainly not over a £50 freebet. They are more concerned with Horse racing syndicates and the like betting on fixed races etc etc. Your £50 freebet is nothing to them. In the Betway thread above the affiliate manager was reading it, was "pleased" that the player concerned in the end conceeded he had been in the wrong and it was settled with their reputation in tact. So he was/is aware of the forum, aware of how the vast majority bet, and has not (to my knowledge) closed any accounts because of it. Of course they might in the future but they havn't yet and dont see why they would.
I think at Bet365 anyway, and the vast majority of main UK focused sites, it would never be an issue. It is more likely to come up at other sites which are more shady like GoldVictory for example once closed "linked" accounts and witheld winnings, when they had bet on the same thing. But as a rule a group of people coming from one place or being linked somehow, if they have just bet using a bonus they have not done anything wrong, you are allowed to do that and the fact you layed it at betfair is neither here nor there. Overall though it isnt a problem or something i do or would worry about. There seems to be from quite a few threads, people asking to change forum names to remain "under the radar", and general covertness a feeling that they are doing something naughty.
I am not doing anything wrong:
My name is Andrew Heaford
I will not likely deposit at any bookmaker/casino/poker site unless there is a bonus involved which puts the odds in my favour.
If any bookmaker/casino/poker site has a problem with that they can close my account its entirely up to them.
If i felt i was doing something wrong/illegal/immoral then i wouldnt want to be doing it and have the account anyway.
If any bookmaker reading this and somehow cant find my account would like to E-mail me firstname.lastname@example.org i will provide more details including the account username and they can close it.
Have a plan and stick to it
