I just had the inactivity fee applied to my gamebookers account today - £4.18 it was (which seems to be 5EUR which is a bit odd given that everything else at partygaming seems to be calculated in USD).
Anyone with money in their Partygaming accounts that hasn't used it for a while (180 days is the cutoff) might want to place a bet or withdraw to avoid being charged.
Pretty dodgy though, the inactivity fee is applied every single month you're not active after the initial 180 days of inactivity! I just logged in and placed a bet... too tired right now to even think about complaining and tbh must admit really can't be bothered (though would be interested to find out how they justify the service they provide for the fee, don't imagine they'd have any explanation whatsoever or feel they need any explanation ).
so if you account balence is £0 does the charge still apply? ie will you log in and find a - balence?
no. They only seize active funds in the account.
Cheeky sods have just removed an 'inactivity admin fee' from my account, have logged on but not placed any bets recently. Also rather annoyingly you cant withdraw to moneybookers or visacard if your account has been 'inactive' for more than 180 days without re-depositing some more money and then making a withdrawal.
Never realised that Partybets/Gamebookers have this rule, where if you dont make a bet/play casino/poker, they can justify a version of theft from your account without any notice or warning.
Notice the version of the rules sent in the email to me, makes no mention of having to make bet etc to remain 'active', however the site rules iisted below state that you must wager to avoid the fee.
Our records show that that you have not logged in to your account for 180 days.
A £ 4.21 administration fee** has been charged to your inactive account. The next charge will be deducted from you account balance on: 22-Mar-2011 ET.
However, this fee will NOT be charged if your account, or any related account, is reactivated on or before 21-Mar-2011 ET.
Reactivating your account is easy: Just log in and place a cash wager, enter a tournament with a cash entry fee, or play a raked hand.
**TERMS & CONDITIONS If you do not access your Account by "logging on" to your Account using your Account name and password for any period of 180 days, then after those 180 days (the "180 day grace period") your Account (and any related account with any ESP) will be deemed "Inactive". The Inactive Account Fee shall be deducted from your Account Balance at the end of each calendar month in accordance with the Inactive Account Fee Schedule. Yep, I had this before as well, I couldn't be bothered arguing the toss with them so just withdrew everything at the time and make sure to place bets regularly if I have money in there (ie if I get a referral bonus from them). Silly rule though, only thing it seems to achieve is to make people want to withdraw money (and frustrate them at the same time because they have to idiotically deposit and then immediately withdraw).
9p was my fee for an inactive account.........that was my balance in there (well the oh's)
