Ice Hockey Bets
With regards to Ice Hockey games, Pinnacle (for example) only offer Team A/B win markets for normal time. They state:
Now a few other bookies offer both normal time and OT if the match is a draw.
Effective immediately, hockey games will be graded on the results of regulation time only, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the line offering.
However, some Arb services (BetBrain for example) seem to flag up certain matches as arbs, even though you are only betting on say Team A at Pinnys, then Team B at another book (inc OT), leaving no room for normal time draw.
Is this a problem with the arb system not flagging up that Pinnys only offer odds on normal time, as you'd lose out quite big if Team A won in OT.
Or am I just missing something?
A big problem with Arb services is frequently that the odds they compare have different market rules, hence the odds differences. So always proceed with care. I have not looked into the exact rules of Pinnacle vs any other sites and i dont use BetBrain but i should imagine the reason for the Arbs is that difference.
Have a plan and stick to it
With regards to Pinnacle they have two different markets for NHL. NHL Regulation Time and NHL OT Included. Neither includes the draw so I'm assuming it's a push if a draw on the regulation time market.
Yep looks that way. I really hadn't used BetBrain much, but was just trying it to see how quickly the arbs go.
Pinnacle do indeed offer regulation and OT lines on NHL, but for other leagues it seems to be regulation only (with no draw option).
So if you bet on a match that does draw, Pinnacle will refund your bet, but you'd have to make sure the other book didn't offer a draw otherwise you could be in trouble.
