Sorry to resurrect this old thread.
I have recently been granted the holy grail of a Moneybookers VIP account. However, when requesting the limits for my account be raised, I received the following reply.
I guess I will have to find a lawyer willing to sign my form, but the problem is I don't actually know any!
Thank you for contacting us.
Please be kindly advised that in order for us to totally remove the outgoing transaction limit and increase up to 50,000 EUR per month the credit/ debit card deposit limit for your account, you will need to coply our verification requirements providing a certified copy of official identification document.
Note: Ensure your Official ID is certified by a witness, who is capable of being contacted of necessary.
Your ID can be certified by;
- an embassy, consulate or high commission of the country of issue, or
- by a senior official within the account opening firm or group; or
- by a lawyer or attorney
Just curious to know if anybody else has had the same request from Moneybookers, and if so, is there any easy way to get around this?
Not been asked for cerified copies by them nor has OH, digital images of the passport page and page opposite has always been enough (and this was enough maybe a couple of weeks back when OH was asked to provide her relatively newly renewed passport).
Perhaps drop them a line and ask if that's absolutely necessary and, if it is, will they accept the post office certifying it as this is a cheap method to certify documents, look here: http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/p...diaId=52100693
I've never had that before from Moneybookers, anything I've had to submit to them was just a regular scan and didn't need certifying thankfully. I have had it with Betfair Australia though (although there was a way around that by just going into the post office).
I think I'd try just uploading a scan of an original copy of whatever ID you have to provide in the first instance and if they say that's no good then you'd have to go along to a solicitor and pay to have the scans certified which is a PITA. I think it's about £15-20 to get it done (edit: just noticed musicbox's idea re PO, probably better... when I had to certify my documentation for Betfair Aus I went to postoffice, they have a system called 'horizon' I think it is that they use...)?
I was sent a form to take down to my bank an get my bank to verify in order to remove debit card transaction limits.
I just never did it and still have the limits :s

Yeah, problem is they won't give me the limits until I've got this ridiculous form signed!
After a bit of to-and-fro on the phone I finally got this sorted. They ended up calling me back, so for anybody who wants to call Moneybookers VIP department and avoid the 0870 number charges, this appears to be a local line which should get you through -

Im desperately chasing to try and get a moneybookers account at the moment and ive been told by the VIP team i need to upload £7000 to gaming platforms in a 30 day period to obtain this.
Is there anything stopping me from uploading this to betfair and then withdrawing it back to moneybookers or is this going to be seen as a no-no (my floats only £6000 at the moment) cos this month ive been smashed to bits with MB charges/currency charges and i realy need a doller account
Thanks for any advice
Have merged this with an existing moneybookers VIP thread, hopefully there'll be some useful info above if you want to have a read through.
I would just say in reply to - Betfair have to pay a fee when you transfer money using moneybookers which I would have thought would be in the region of 1% of the payment total (guessing!), so I would ask myself if I'd be happy if someone did that to me (answer is 'no'!).

hmm i just posted seems to have disapeared when you merged...
Snoopy, I got told much the same thing as you, so i uploaded £9,000 in a 30 day period and applied for vip.
After much back and forth of emails i got this reply:
Which i assume to mean that there is 3 criteria for VIP status,
Dear Mr. Grandthrax,
Thank you for contacting Moneybookers.com
Please be kindly informed that thanks to the documents provided, we have further increased your outgoing transaction limits to the amount of 42 000.00 EUR.
Furthermore, please note that every Moneybookers customer needs to have completed all the possible verifications with us, exceeded the granted transaction limits and made sufficient send money transactions through the account to online merchants, in order for us to reconsider his request for VIP status.
We are glad to inform you that you have already completed all of our verifications. Therefore, once you exceed your outgoing limits, please contact us again and we would be glad to further assist you and forward your request for VIP status to our department in charge. We hope that the provided information is useful for you. Should there any other queries or requests that might arise, please do not hesitate to contact our service team again.
1) all documents provided
2) uploaded £7000 to gaming platforms
3) hit your outgoing transaction limit after completing 1.
So i have done 1 and 2, but to do 3 i need to send ~£20,000 .
Do you reckon that i can reach this by sending money back and forth between me and a friend?
Might send them and email anyway complaining about the misleading info in the first email i got.
