I was initially told that I needed to upload 10k. Then when I reached it I emailed and they said I needed to hit my transaction limit. Which still another 20k or so.
So I emailed them again pretty much exactly the same email and they upgraded me.
So I get the feeling it is a bit of a botch who they give it to. Also my housemate got upgraded automatically and I don't think he was that near the 10k in a month limit.
Unless you signed up before the Ts&Cs changed, in which case it's still OK (or at least I was).

I just called MoneyBookers regarding a bank transfer I want to make from my €MoneyBookers to my Nationwide account. I confirmed with them that - unless you specifically state otherwise - when you put through a bank transfer, MoneyBookers automatically convert the currency to your local currency (if required) and charge their own fees for the conversion. If you do not want them to do this (and it's pretty obvious why you wouldn't if you are sending to Nationwide), then you have to email them and specifically state that you want the money sent through in the current currency, leaving the receiving bank to handle the conversion.

Please note that the VIP program of Moneybookers was designed to provide
Moneybookers VIP customers with a number of benefits to reward them for
their patronage and to provide special services to make their experience
with Moneybookers easy and enjoyable.
Please find below the key benefits of our VIP Programme:
• NO TRANSACTION LIMITS
• PERSONAL ACCOUNT MANAGER
• PRIORITY BANK UPLOADS
• MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS IN DIFFERENT CURRENCIES
• ACCESS TO SPECIAL PROMOTIONS AND EVENTS
In order to be granted VIP status, you need to face some requirements such
as transaction threshold, membership period, etc. Once you complete a
specific number of transactions to gaming merchants, your account will be
automatically granted the VIP status. Should you upload at least 10,000 EUR
to your Moneybookers account and send the money to gaming merchants for the
period of 30 days, you could apply for that status.
Hope the information above will be useful. Should you have any other
questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through the Email Support
section of your Moneybookers account.
Cheers, Makybe !
Everything ends badly, otherwise it wouldn't end.
Guess now its 5k, not 10k.
Verified Company Rep
I see you have some questions about Monebookers VIP.
Regarding currency exchange - yes there is such thing but VIP department can set it up so you can avoid the exchange and it's only for VIPs.
As per limits to grant VIP it should be at least 10 K for 30 days. In oder to get a bonus 500 EUR you need to upload 20K EUR.
Please send all your questions to email@example.com or call: +44 8703830251
Have fun and Enjoy the weekend
Nice to see a Rep here. Welcome.
Just a question on multi-currency.
I believe that you can only have two. It would be awesome if you could have three.
At the moment I do all of my $ work through Neteller as I can only have a £ and € with Moneybooker.
If you allowed £,$,€ then there would be no reason for anyone to have Neteller (giving you a bigger market share). Just a suggestion
FWIW - I agree with LosEndos that the option of euros would be a useful addition.
I'm not sure I fully understand the currency conversion answer: Is a withdrawal, say by bank transfer, in a foreign currency by default converted before being sent ?
And finally - when you are running gaming promotions can you look a little further into the books that you are promoting. There have been some awful books included which do nothing for either the promotions or your reputation.
PS - Can we have another cashback promo
