    BetTrader - Anybody use it?

Hello, Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

Does anyone use bet trader? Either the free or pay version?

    BetTrader - Betfair Trading Software - RacingTraders.com

I have been looking and I'm keen to give it a go. I guess I'm just a little nervous as you have to log in to betfair through the software - I can see why that is needed, but it makes me a little nervous - basically giving them my password.

Hence anybody use/used it? Can't find that many reviews beyond the propganda on its website!

    Thanks

You need to enter your password becasue you place bets through the program. It is mostly used by traders, and is absolutely essential if trading or placing bets within 30 mins of a race starts, as it updates the betfair prices 10 times a second as opposed to the once every 2 seconds or so on the betfair website.

Only using the free version atm, but blogs like this one: Horse Racing Trader [ £0 - £250,000 Challenge ] make me want to get more involved in trading!

From what I remember BetTrader didn't do full market depth, it only showed the best 3 back & lay prices, much like the Betfair website. Full depth is handy for finding gaps further away from the current price and seeing what the highest & lowest prices have been matched.
There's not a Betdaq version either.

I haven't actually used it but I doubt there's much difference between it & Betangel, which a lot of the popular blogs advertise.

& I wouldn't worry about putting your name & password in, it just needs it to log into Betfair.

The Betangel blog is good too, covers lots of sports rather than just horse racing & he greened up at over a grand on the derby!

I have no idea what either product does, anyone care to give a one-line explanation..? (If that's possible!)

Fella, they're both front ends to Betfair. They show you the markets in pretty near real time and allow one click betting. They both have paid versions that give you ladder interfaces - it's pretty hard to trade horse racing odds movements without one of the above (or Betfair Rapid).

Try horse odds trading I found interesting, but also lost about £100.00 net, so called it a day.

That wasn't one line, was it.

    I have been using it for 8 months now,really good product,tossed up between Betraders and Betangel,decision made by getting a 50% discount for 1 year ,just about to bring out the new version which by all accounts will be the dogs nuts.I normally use it to "scalp" the horseracing markets 5 minutes to the off,but have recently been doing a little in-running trading with small stakes{my 1st post-be gentle!!}
    Regards

I've used both Bet Trader and Bet Angel.

Although I preferred Bet Trader at first, I've come to appreciate some features in Bet Angel for trading. Both products are official API software, so you have no worries about putting in username and password.

Ignoring "trading", the freeware sides of both products can still be useful for matched betting if you are simply looking to lay off a freebie just before the off. Just don't go hitting the hedge button and you'll be fine

I have been using it for about 18 months now and quite honestly woulnt be without it now.

However, I have never tried any other software, so cant say if its is superior or not to the others out there. But then I dont see the need to change.

I use it for allsorts, mainly trading Tennis or scalping the U/O 2.5 markets and it has also hepled me squeeze many an extra ££ from the Bet365 4/1 offer recently.

I have never had a problem with password or anything and I very much doubt I ever will. I would have thought that if they ever did something to somebodies account, word would get around like wildfire and that would be the end of them.

    TakeAway,

What functions of BA do you use that helps over BT?

I never have got the pre-race trading right. Whenever I think I have made inroads and had afew weeks of profits, I quickly blow out.

If its easier elsewhere, maybe I should give them a go?
