Dutching Stake Not Returned (SNR) free bets
This is in response to a question about how to use an SNR free bet when dutching (ie in a 2/3 way match etc rather than backing/laying):

Could anyone possibly point me to an explaination or a previous post on this issue. Thanks for all the great advice so far.
If you've got an SNR free bet then effectively you take 1 off the decimal odds of the selection you're betting on and dutch against it that way.
So with a simple 2way example (all just for example):
A odds: 2 (for your £100 SNR bet)
B odds: 2
Effective odds of A are 2-1 = 1, so to calculate the stake required on B you'd do:
£100*1/2 = £50
So you have:
A wins: £100 (profit from A £100 SNR bet) - £50 (loss from B bet) = £50
B wins: £0 (profit from A £100 SNR bet) + £50 (profit from B bet) = £50
As with all SNR bets, the higher the odds you bet at the better your return... try it with odds of 100 for example:
A odds: 100 (for your £100 SNR bet)
B odds: 1.01
Effective odds of A are 99, so to calculate the stake required on B you'd do:
£100*99/1.01 = £9802
So you have:
A wins: £9900 (profit from A £100 SNR bet) - £9802 (loss from B bet) = £98
B wins: £0 (profit from A £100 SNR bet) + £98 (profit from B bet) = £98
