Moneybookers - All discussion, questions, comments and complaints!

There has been several Moneybookers related threads in the past which are here:

    http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...tml#post152646
    http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...tml#post169904

If all future discussion could continue in this one place, a Moneybookers representitive does follow what is said here and cannot officially comment but will do his best to assist or clarify anything where possible.

Without any explanation as to why, I have had the following e-mail from Moneybookers today:

"We would like to kindly inform you that your Moneybookers membership has been terminated on the grounds of our terms and conditions, section 11. Therefore, we would ask you to withdraw your remaining balance after which your account will be closed. Please note that this decision is final and it is not subject to further negotiations."

I imagine it is to do with St. Minver, as I had 2 accounts with them. I opened a 3rd for Quidco cashback without realising it was in the same group. They closed my accounts, but gave me my deposit back on the third account. Soon after my Moneybookers account was suspended, and I received no communication until this e-mail. This is obviously a real problem, as I will find it difficult to operate without an MB account, plus I will have money spread around various books that will have to go back to MB. I also don't think it right that hey have not informed me of why they have closed my account, nor given me an opportunity to respond. Is there anything I can do?

Dun think so. There's a thread on MSE about accounts being locked probably for the very same reason as yours.

Yes, the thread on MSE is regarding St Miniver too, I think some people got their accounts re-opened so might be a good read.

Did you open it through the TGT homepage? If so you will be tracked to our account and I am 99.9% sure that if you did nothing wrong then I will be able to get them to re-open it for you. Send me a PM.

No, I've had the account for a long time but thanks for the suggestion. The problem is they haven't even told me why, I'm guessing it's to do with St. Minver accounts. I imagine I did break St. Minver's terms by having more than one account, although I didn't derive any benefit from it so I don't see how it could be termed promotional abuse. I've had a look at Section 11 of the Moneybookers terms, and as far as I can tell it refers to illegal activities, which is nonsense. I just feel frustrated that they haven't explained anything to me, and not given me any opportunity to put my side.

They do read this thread and will comment if they want to or contact you direct (It is read by one of the middle managers there not regular CS so you may have more chance of a response but no guarantee at all) I will make sure they are at least aware of it.

Why not? You are FSA regulated. I wonder what they have got to say about closing accounts without explaining why.
