so are they "only" goin bad on winning accounts?
my deposits minus (balance) is about 900-
still dont feel comfortable at all with the situation at all!!
The short of it is that Getwin have voided all bets winning/losing on my account - worth highlighting: Getwin voided all 300 or so bets I ever placed with them - which means I am down £1700+. Whether or not they just did this to winning players is not clear, but I would be VERY surprised if they took this kind of action with a losing player, but at the same time seriously does anyone really want to play at a book that arbitrarily voids all of a players bets without producing any kind of evidence?

I don't know what the definition of 'criminal' is, but frankly what Getwin have done there must be bordering on criminality. Assuming they balance their books properly / lay off any bets / exposure they have, they've basically creamed an absolute fortune here.
Imagine how much money you would make if you placed a bunch of matched bets which all lost at the bookmaker over to your 'lay' account(s)/Betfair/Pinny/w/e, and then you had the power to say to the bookmaker 'actually, you know what, I'm voiding all those bets I placed with you, I want the money back' - and then did that / withdrew the money back to your Moneybookers account? You would be creaming it in, that's effectively what Getwin have done. Theft, plain and simple.
Even if you DON'T have a winning account at Getwin, do you really want to risk it? Personally I would run a mile if I found out a bookmaker did something like the above ^ without any proper justification or evidence, is pure theft plain and simple.
made a mb withdraw request for 1250, with in 5 mins had limit of zero.
gt money within 30 mins and then requested the rest available funds another 1500 gt then quck also bt had to pay the 3% fee
account was about 1k + in the end
still gt another 300 in pending bets for weekend probaly try and withdraw nex tuesday wen mb is free to withdraw.
ok they have ok limits and odds so are quite useful for arbing.
bt wouldnt go back in a hurry coz with the trouble other ppl are having.
plus ive found some better books that i think will be more better.
Had an email from the LGA finally today to acknowledge my complaint and give a status update. Nothing to it really other than to say they're waiting for information from Getwin about the case, will notify me once there is any news and could I give them my Getwin account name.
Once the getout of a slow line moving site is a syndicate claim, voiding bets and taking balances, what's the motivation to move your lines if you've got a fallback like that? Perhaps I'm being unfair... maybe they also voided all the losing mug bettors bets on their worst odds when they got on the line one after another.
I was a few £k up here and didn't have any accusation or action against me but I have a zero balance now as these actions seem to have crossed the line big time.
Good luck getting your funds back to all affected.
Yes absolutely, what is the point in any bookmaker paying anyone out at all. I'm moving to Malta to start up a book.
Presumably, being a bookmaker, Getwin attempted to balance their books in some meaningful way with the end aim of making a profit from each book - whether it be via the vigorish/juice/overround on the book or whether it be via (much more risky) approaches such as taking a position on the outcome of a game. That being the case, on any given book that they have taken bets on, they will have (hopefully) made a profit.
By voiding all the bets JUST on certain winning bettors on certain books, they're quite literally stealing from those bettors, because if the above is true and they have balanced their books correctly then they've made a profit on the initial book, and then gone on to make a second profit by voiding a number of winning bets retrospectively which is obviously outrageous for a bookmaker. (Imagine if we tried to do that, every time you have a losing bet that you laid off at Betfair, you go back to the bookmaker and say to them 'sorry no I'm voiding that bet you won from me, it was a palpable error'... how much money would you cream in and how completely ridiculous is that?!)
I am sure what has actually happened is they have seen a lot of action from steam bettors, taken considerable hits on weak lines because of their poor line management and as a result made a loss on those lines and so they decided to recoup the losses by retrospectively voiding bets on any net winning accounts that they could tenuously label as 'syndicated'. (Incidentally Getwin chose to have their odds listed on Betbrain/Betonvalue one month before they confiscated balances, most definitely NOT a coincidence IMO.)
What I don't get is why the LGA are actually entertaining this syndication accusation at all? I cannot see any possible way that Getwin could possibly prove syndication in any meaningful way even if it were true (short of producing emails/instant messaging logs/phone taps(!) and the like which indicate collusion)? It is a non-binding 'FU' clause surely? Surely it's not enough for Getwin to simply produce betting records that indicate a number of people across the world bet on similar lines around the same time? All that proves is a lot of people bet on the same line around the same time(!), it doesn't prove the bets were made in collusion.
No matter which way this is viewed it is truly shocking behaviour. Bastards.

Who knows, they will probably try the same thing again at some point in future when they decide their profit margins need a bit of a boost again. I would be very wary of betting at Getwin full stop.
